    What shouldn't be ignored in all the claim and counter claim about who set the Facebook group up and why, is that in a matter of a couple of days nearly 1500 reds fans felt strongly enough about the current plight of the club that they signed up to a group dedicated to achieving a change of ownership.

    I guess the two main points would be creating a Facebook group under a fake persona, and the potential for this investor to be non-existent

    FWIW I think a debate around whether it's a hoax by definition, is semantics. Personally I don't think it's a hoax, in so far as I don't think it's been created by people trying to deliberate trick or deceive Barnsley fans.

    The series of events can't be questioned though. They're there for all to see. So whether people call it a hoax or just a badly thought out plan, is kinda neither here nor there really.

    Sounds plausible but I would suggest the Trust is not solely The Barnsley supporters spokesperson(s), they do not engage with all and I would guess a large percentage have never heard of the Trust ! I only know about it through coming on here even knowing some of the group( do not even know how many people are on there?).

    But it has been specifically called a "hoax". It's not semantics we're talking about - we know what hoax means. It's whether the actions of Conway Out fit the definition.
