Don't know how I feel about this. Could her over eating be down to addiction issues or mental health problems? Maybe not. It has made me think though as a little girl who is very precious to me has been refused funding from the NHS for treatment on a brain tumour in America. The treatment she needs won't be available in the UK for at leat another 4 years. The cost of her treatment is less than what this girl has cost. I've read about hospitals paying for floors to be reinforced, larger operating tables all due to people who can't/ won't control their eating habits, then I think of Ebonie who has done nothing whatsoever to cause her illness and the NHS won't help her. eboniewebb.co.uk
Totally agree, i know i act the prat on here at 99% of the time, but people such as Ebonie Webb are the ones who deserve the help and the newspaper write ups, I have donated quite a bit of money to that cause and others in the region.
That's another thing that annoys me, how at the end of the day all that it comes down to is money. The NHS should treat her and its sickening that they're not. I hope something changes about this, cause it's a young girls life, and money is not more important than that.
Greekman makes sensible post - shocker! Seriously though that's good to know that people care and are still helping with Ebonie's appeal. She's a lovely little girl and it's awful to see what see goes through with the effects of the chemo
I try and limit my sensible posts to something thats worth it. a family friend lost a child in similar circumstances a few years ago now and ive contributed to charities ever since, every little helps.
Spot on. It makes me so angry that the NHS doesn't have the money for the treatment Ebonie needs. She needs proton therapy and it will be at least 4 years before the 3 hospitals in this country are going to have them because of money. This therapy will save lives and reduce the terrible side effects people get from radiotherapy. Yet we give away million pounds in foreign aid, I believe we should start and look after our own peoples needs first. Harsh but fair
