I believe by your own admission, that you've not been to Oakwell for a while, Mark?

I'd love to be at Oakwell Tuesday night. It's where I always want to be on matchdays. But unfortunately I'm working, to pay for the games against Boro and Wednesday.

    But each to their own.

We're ****. Flicker is **** this season. But they are my ****.

But you go when circumstances allow....Many on here would struggle to find Oakwell with the aid of Google maps.

It's obvious from your posts on here that you're a committed fan, regardless of how many times you go.

I've not missed a home league game. Pains me to have to miss Tuesday.

R lass has got SkySports so I could easily stay in and watch the Wednesday game on that. Save myself £23, the 4 train journeys etc. Plus it's an early kick off.

But I'd rather chew on Rik Wallers anus than take the armchair approach. No matter how ***** we are I have to be there. And I am yet to miss a Wednesday match home or away in 25 years.

But like I say, each to their own. Everyone is different. No qualms from me. Their prerogative.

Me and Calgary Tyke need the aid of something with wings, we don't need a map as we're both pretty good at Geography.

"I'd say a quarter of posters on here are season ticket holders. The remaining 75% haven't attended a game since Wembley."

Is that something you genuinely believe or are you just pillocking us and trying to get a rise? If it's the latter, fair play, it's a good bit of bait and I've definitely been hooked. If it's the former...

For home games I leave the house quite late. So long as I set off before 2:50 I can be sat in The Ponty for kick-off. If they kicked-off on time I probably wouldn't make it, but they never do these days and I'm yet to miss a game start. Last thing I do before leaving is check this BBS for the team news and what people have been saying about it. First thing I do when I get back is write a quick report and read what others are saying about the game. Pretty sad, I know, but I can't deny it, that's what I always do. In the intervening 2 and a half hours between me leaving for the match and getting home there's usually been about half-a-dozen posts on the BBS. The majority of these tend to be from people with exotic names like Burgundy Red, Paris Tyke, SFOTyke or people who you know from reading the BBS for years live miles away, sometimes thousands of miles. By the time I post my report there's posts flying in from all directions and it's the busiest time of the week. Hundreds of posts for the next couple of hours. Then everyone slinks away to get pissed, either in celebration or to drown their sorrows. Usual the latter these days.

I don't get to many away games these days. I've probably averaged about 2 or 3 per season over the last 10 years. I usually listen to commentary on Barnsley World or Radio Sheffield and post on here. I'm not alone, there are uggins of us doing that, making hundreds of posts. Like me, I guess a lot of people on here don't travel too well.

The conclusion I draw from all that? During our home games there are hardly any posts on the BBS because the vast majority who use this board are at the game.

You could argue that we don't post during home matches because we don't want anyone to find out we don't attend games, but I think that is taking cynicism beyond the point where it's credible. For a start, we're not bright enough to do that. Not when it comes to football. We'd forget what we were doing after a couple of weeks and slip up. And we're all such habitual moaners that as soon as we conceded a goal we wouldn't be able to resist mouthing off, telling anyone who cares to read exactly what's wrong, what should be done and who should be sacked. We've all got a massively inflated sense of our own importance when it comes to matters relating to Barnsley football club and we all think our ideas are brilliant and should be read by as many people as possible as soon they pop in to our head. There are some intelligent people who use this forum, but all that goes out of the window when you throw football in to the mix. The idea that we hold back from posting because we might reveal we're not at the game just doesn't wash. We're far too stupid and self-absorbed to be able to pull that off.

There's a lot of valid criticism that can be aimed at this BBS and the people that use it, but the vast majority do attend games. To claim otherwise is neither fair nor accurate. Our opinions may well be full of ****, but we are avid Barnsley FC supporters.

I'd say the majority of posters on here are season ticket holders or attend most games, that's the impression I get when reading the board.
