It can't have been that shambolic if we only conceded one o.g. Sounds as though we couldn't keep them at bay. For whatever reason. But someone who has been all the way to Yeovil deserves my utmost respect and the opportunity to vent whatever feelings he has about what he believes he's seen.
OK I get it that we weren't great in the second half but it certainly wasn't the spineless surrender that some are making out.
We were ok. Ridiculous hyperbole. Shaded the first half they dominated in the second (as you would expect a decent team to do). And yes I was there still am in fact. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
Now for positives We gained a point and have a terrific player in Hourihane. The only agenda I have is to see us flourish. I express my opinion as I see it. I refuse to dress it up as good if we are poor. People who have witnessed today's performance will have every right to air their views. We all see things differently and I will always respect another posters opinion but I feel saddened when people resort to abuse. I love my club and I have found todays performance extremely frustrating. Sorry if I have upset anyone but I can only tell it as I see it. Others will have a different take on things as is their right. On to the next game. COYR
So you've travelled all that way and are experiencing a nail biting finale...and you decide to complain on a forum... Wow...Get pissed, get laid.
That second half 'surpassed' the entirety of last season in terms of it being 'shambolic and spineless'? Really? I think you might be exaggerating a little bit, mate. Thanks for the report though. By all accounts it was your typical 'game of two halves' and we were possibly fortunate to get out of Yeovil with a point? I'll take that. We're still unbeaten away from Oakwell, have only lost the one league game, and we've practically a brand new squad of players here bedding in etc. Only Nyatanga in today's starting XI started the same fixture last season, just a few months ago. Which amplifies the point re needing to be patient and allowing early mistakes/time for them to gel. It's my opinion that August has been a promising first month of nine for us. Foundations laid. I do however admit that my opinion is one of many. If some of us prefer to look upon our start as a bad/poor one, so be it. Just as some folk prefer to label certain players world beaters/dogshit after a few games of seeing em. Each to their own. You Reds etc.
It's a better start Whitey than I anticipated and your point about showing patience is a valid one. Yeovil were a poor side there for the taking but we didn't show any ambition to finish them off. Brown at right back had a shocker as did Jennings. Berry was out of his depth and needs guidance. Davies made some good saves but needs to improve his kicking and distribution. Lita was anonymous but pumping high balls up to him against two 6ft defenders did him no favours. I accept it's only one game but being a Reds supporter can be so frustrating.
We'll never get it right every week. In fact, it'll be rare when we do. We're Barnsley. Frustration is part of supporting us.
Let me ask a question. What context are you basing your views. If it's one of having players that have vast experience at winning every game without mistakes and that the opposition will lay down then I agree. If it's one of a team playing away fro home, putting out a very young and inexperienced side in L1, holding out for an undefeated away draw, losing Treacy through injury then I'm ecstatic. It's frustrating being a football fan, get used to it, being a barnsley fan is exactly the same, although your post doesn't indicate you are a fan, just a critic.
I've supported the Reds for 36yrs and have spent one hell of a lot of money over the years. Since I've been a member of this forum I've given plenty of praise when deserved and have been critical when it's been poor. Check my old postings! Have you been today? If so then credit to you. Today's second half display was very poor
