That was a good badly managed the current lot are a poor Championship side. Probably great in L1. Other than those 3who would get in any team outside the bottom 3. I can’t see any ( excluding the new signings).

The quality of the football was appalling tbh. He had has a team we sold for 20 million quid plus at the foot of L1. He has improved since but not for me.

Other than his very respectful message about the passing of Patrick he has nothing to do with the club. Long gone.

Good post this but I don’t think the number 10 issue is a Hecky issue it’s more of a football issue.

It’s a dying position, very rarely do clubs play with a traditional number 10, certainly not the Moncur / Mallan / Mowatt type.

Even clubs that play a 4-2-3-1 tend to have more of an athlete in there who’ll rotate with the wingers like Lingard at Man Utd or Alli at Spurs.

About the only example of a club that keeps using a number 10 I can think of is Arsenal with Ozil & they’re having a shocking season.

With the way football’s going with players pressing more & playing at a higher intensity I don’t think there’s much room for that type of luxury player certainly not at championship strugglers like us.

I think Mallan & Moncur will have to change their natural game whichever manager joins or club they go to

Leeds have played Saiz in behind in the 4-2-3-1 nearly all season. It will be interesting to see how Hecky asks him to play.

It’s really not much different to a 4-4-2 in terms of the defensive side of it.
