Of course they do, let's for example take Kane, not once has that lad come off a field in a Barnsley shirt and had us raving about him, it seems to me that he shows all the right attributes in training pretty much forcing the manager to play him and then just shirks responsibility, that's dishonest. Duff deserves better in my opinion and in my opinion the lad Connell is a more honest player.
It was a disappointing display today, but I like the way Michael Duff tells it as it is. The loss of Luke Thomas may have been a factor as in the rest of the team we did not have the kind of player who could run at the opposition the way Luke does. A bad day at the office but we move on and leave it up to the coach and his staff to change it round.
I thought Kane played well against Charlton but was disappointing today but he certainly wasn't the only one.
For me, Kane was the best player on the field in our last home game. He was poor today, but to call him dishonest is pretty rude in my opinion.
A proper straight-talking, down-to-earth head coach. What a refreshing change. Terrible today though. Were they all out on the lash last night or what?
Right so the coach sets us up to win and we play awfully. Then when we lose it's the players fault. And it's not his job to explain it. Righto.
As a coach...he picks a team and trains them to win footy matches. Exeter were good ...we were poor, he made all the right (imho) subs today and there was slight improvement...but we would never have scored all night. Duff is a good coach, players looked poor today.
I said the same at half time - you could tell the players were in shock still from witnessing Thomas’ injury. Seeing and hearing something like that does affect you for a short time - exactly like Duff said. Duff was pissed off all game - you could tell. Fair play in taking off Norwood and changing tactics early. That’s what you have to do. Top manager Duff - great appointment whatever happens this season. We can build with him.
Agree - we could be playing now and still not scored. I thought Exeter were average. Stuck to their game plan and that was it. On another day we could have thrashed them. Like Duff said - if we’d had scored to make it 2-1, it would have made an interesting finish to the game.
There was, and only will be , this day. If Exeter were average, then God knows what we were, because Exeter were superior all over the pitch. For practically the whole game. If Duff is going on about "if we scored" then he's dreaming off into Neverland. They were more likely to make it 3. Or more. As everyone knows.
Agree 100%. We underestimated them, conceded a sloppy first minute goal and it went down there from then. If we react at Bolton next week like we did at the Sty after a couple of setbacks we’ll be fine.
Credit for taking Norwood off when he did, but I felt he shirked an even bigger call which would have been to take his replacement Phillips back off around the hour mark. I guess some days you're just watching so many players not at their best, you don't have enough subs to replace them.
Your opinion fair enough. I've seen enough of Kane in recent weeks and shirking responsibility is not the case imho. While everyone else has been doing the fancy stuff so to speak. He has dictated play on more than one occasion. Today wasn't his best. But did anyone show their best. No. Opinions eh.
