agreed, back in the day it was nippers running on... ... I'm affraid that some of the people running on on Saturday hadn't been 'nippers' for many a year and had a far more sinister motive than patting their heros on the back.
RE: Maybe not... Because the holier than thou, PC brigade (as in politically correct) that make up the majority on here, are really representative of Joe Public in Barnsley aren't they?
Whether we like it or not...
...it's causing the players not to do the lap of honour AT THE LAST MATCH OF THE SEASON and, whether you and Pontyenderthink they should or not, a lot of people would like them to.
This thread is full of "I do this" or "I used to do this so **** everybody else." A selfish few are spoiling it for the majority and so far nobody's come up with a credible argument to support their actions.
It's even been suggested that it's "boring" to oppose the pitch invasion and that those doing it are showing "passion." My personal view is that there isn't a more boring way to mark the end of the home season than watching a couple of hundred kids wander about the pitch talking to each other or a naffer way to demonstrate your passion than chasing the players off the pitch. In fact I'd go so far as to say it's fecking ****.

RE: Whether we like it or not... Some people have said we haven't achieved anything so why bother running on the pitch. But the same people wanted a lap of honour. So for the same reason, why bother with a lap of honour?
I think they make up a vociferous minority.
Borne out by the fact that big arguments and the pollsthat accompany themoften swing in different directions. Feware willing to take on the PCsbut are happy to let their feelings known anonymously.
You get all kinds on here the same as anywhere else. You just have to remember that one name represents only oneperson regardless of how many times they post or how loud they shout.I have to keep reminding myself that most people aren't retarded.

We all have our different reasons.
Ithink players such as JCR, Foster and Hassell deserve a show of appreciation from the home crowd.

RE: We all have our different reasons. Maybe the deserving handful could do a lap of honour, followed by a lap of dishonour from the rest.
I Don't Think Our Club Mind So Much About Fans Running On If they did surely they would change the security from the same that fails years after year, would think about releasing pictures of some of those on the pitch, think about banning orders, maybe release a statement on the official website condeming it etc.
RE: I Don't Think Our Club Mind So Much About Fans Running On At the end of the day a business isn't going to ban a sizeable number of its customers. It might pick the odd one out as an example to others though. I'd start with the moron who was running around like an imbecile in a figure of eight all over the pitch and between the horses.
