Week on Saturday against top of the table, after a 2 week break, I reckon we'll struggle to get 13,000. The reality is we'll never be self sufficient in the Championship and are totally reliant upon Patrick's benevolance.
RE: Week on Saturday We were before and HTF do Colchester manage? Better thinking required IMHO. It's not 1948 anymore
RE: what rule would that be then....... No, SM's rule that we cannot cope with the Championship on the gates we get.
Which players do you think would prefer to play for us in front of empty stadiums than for clubs getting decent size attendances and thus greater ability to offer improved wages? Colchester lost Chris Iwelumo & Jamie Cureton amongst others, Luton had to sell their better players, and inevitably it becomes a struggle. we wont make any forward progress, and in fact the days of staying put in the 2nd Division like we did in the 80's are long gone, its a totally different 'ball game' nowadays. No loyalty, money talks.
RE: ok SM we should speculate to accumulate-Ronaldinho for starters-Patrick should top Barca's wages and offer a 2 up 2 down in Kendray as a sweetener-then Drogba would want to move here and soon it would snowball-Abramovic would buy us out and the attendances would soar to maybe 15000
Dont see a solution we'll be forced to sell in January, regardless of how deep Patricks pockets are cos the players in demand with an ounce of ambition will be fed up of hearing the odd boo echo round a 2/3s empty stadium. Im just pointing out the inevitable. Course, you'll geet a few fckwits come on here and blame the board for lack of ambition. the same board that have pushed the boat out to sign 15 players on good money despite dwindling attendances. Barnsley people are in the main lazy, they prefer to moan about the prices, hide behind pleading poverty whilst getting hammered every weekend, and will ultimately end up with summat to moan about when we drop down to our level. FACT.
Correct takes some real brain power and energy to exert ones fat arse to SKY Plus Strictly Come Dancing and to pick up the phone to speed dial Dominos, low down on agenda is supporting your local football club, not when there's a new X Box game out and a plasma to wall mount.
I don't think it worked actually
A great deal ofBarnsley "fans" know sweet **** all about football and only turn up when they think there's a chance of going on the pitch when we score in a derby. Those samepeople wouldalso much rather buy 40 Mayfair and a 4 pack of lager than spend money watching your average championship game.
See how we get on with that.

Problem I see, you are preaching to the converted on here.
You should get a letter in the Chronicle or something like that.

Well, as I'm a season ticket holder and rarely go out at the weekend I'll moan my ******* head off if we sell all our players. Unless it's the players that Davey brought in, the majority of whom are ****.
Benefits dependant culture middle white finger up to you, BFC, you can shove your half season ticket where the sun dont shine, speaking of which, £199 for family of 4 B&B in Salou, Deal.
Well here goes ...... high street bookies are generally offering approx 9/2 against us going down ie. punter puts on £20 on to win £90 plus your £20 stake back, £110 in total. This is 4.5 to 1 in decimal or in betfair terms 5.5 (as their figure includes the stake) If you offered 10.0 on betfair (9-1 in bookie terms) then punters would be returned £200 for their £20 stake. You would have no shortage of punters for these generous odds! If Barnsley stayed up you would keep all their stake money (could be loads). However, if barnsley went down you would have to pay them all out at 9 times their stake money (a fortune). You would also have to deposit the all the money in betfair account to cover the bets should you lose. In simple terms, don't lay bets at big odds unless you are certain that the event won't happen - are you certain we won't go down?
