I agree on The Shay - that bank was a real experience! Others that stick in my memory - Millmoor. I remember coming out at the end of an FA Cup Tie I think and being seriously worried about getting crushed as you exited the alley. Spotland was also rubbish in the 70's and Nothampton's ground when it had ropes around two(?) sides was devoid of any atmosphere at all.

I also remember being surprised at just how rubbish The Dell was when we beat Southampton there in the cup in the 80's. And (a dubious link I know) but every time I've been to Hillsborough in recent years it feels like being back in the 70's!

Cambridge United away in the FA cup the season after the great league cup run.Lost to a George Riley header (remember him) chicken coop springs to mind.

    Boundary Park.

    Ayresome Park.

Elland Road then (mid 80s) and now.

    Millmoor.

    Loftus Rd.(price and view)

    Highfield Road.

    The Dell.

Wigan, Northampton, Workington Town, Barrow, Southport and Halifax, all crappy grounds, all of them either moved or non league now.....

I'm surpised Oakwell isn't up there. I used to love looking at the away fans getting soaked on the open kop especially when we were winning.

Once it was raining so badly against Hull.....

...that they let their fans move into the far end of the Brewery Stand until the storm had passed. And then the tw@ts equalised! Speaking to mates who supported other teams, a lot of them liked our Kop as the said that the view from the top was superb. I would guess that any of our fans ages 40 or over would be able to vouch for that as wasn't it open to home fans as well up til the mid 70s?

It was a great view to watch 2 games on a Saturday and sometimes Co-op Sports was the better match.

Ah, those were the days! Watching Barnsley one minute, then switching your attention to the Co-op Sports ground to see barnsley66 doing his Pat Jennings impersonation!!

Does anyone remember the pitch that was where the east stand park is now. I remember seeing a Barnsley intermediate game taking place there during a home match

No, I remember that too. And the nightmare journey to get there in Woodys car.
