but it does contravene the law according to Supertyke who is obviously employed as a time and motion inspector.
have you ever been a smoker ? ... Believe me if you ever had been then you would know that the cravings that build up if you don't get that nicotine 'kick' every 45 mins or so can be quite severe.

I know they are And it seems to me that the club are picking and choosing which of the football league rules fans have to stick to which is wrong in my opinion. If they feel they can't/choose not to abide by the rules of the league then they shouldn't have entered it. And that isn't a dig at barnsley because I think the same can be said for all of the leagues clubs with various different rules and I think those that travel to all away matches could come up with a long list of different rules that certain clubs break. It just seems to me that if the clubs don't agree to a rule then they should voice their opinion and challenge the rule and if they feel so strongly that the rule is wrong but cannot get it changed then they should not enter the competition. If they accept the rules then they should enforce them.
I haven't no. But these people that can't go for 45 minutes have surely made themselves unemployable havent they? Do patches help at all?
Life sometimes isn't so black and white. I think the smoking rule is a poor rule ill thought out with no regard to how it gets implemented and the pitfalls therein.
Clubs have to deal with the reality of the rules.

He's got a point mate I couldn't care less whether people smoke or not, and I believe every club should have a smoking area so they cater for everyone. However, if a club decides to adopt a no smoking policy, is it really that hard for folk to go 90 minutes without a cigarette? Yes people smoke during work times, but they don't get breaks every hour, they usually get two or three breaks a day, which means from 7am till 3pm they'll have two or three opportunites to smoke. How's that different to a football match?
agreed when its put in a logical way , as you have done. But when put in a bull headed red neck way then he invites all the cat calls.
Would you like to see the club rigidly enforce the ban ... and start ejecting the folk that stand between the stands and if they didn't go have them arrested ?
Seems to me that the club is being pragmatic by ignoring something that isn't hurting anyone.

RE: Would you like to see the club rigidly enforce the ban Smoking not hurting anyone? you mean its healthy after all?
Most employers will allow smoke breaks ... as for patches, I don't know as I gave up 30 years since. Only had willpower back then... eeeee it used to be all green fields around here.
Nice one ... ... well i meant not hurting anyone apart from the smoker.
I can't believe I'm writing this as I'm a non-smoker and I hate smoking !!

Edited to stop me being kicked out of the apostrophe police !!!
