Yeah but it isn't just down to Ridsdale

He might be the chairman and have the final say but it's probably everyone else's fault. It's not his fault they and every other team he's been involved with are in debt. He's part of a board, blah, blah, blah...

    RE: Are you joking?

sorry leeds tyke, but PC, when shepherd took over, gave us the info about his funds being necessary to ensure survival, whatever the politics of the club, PC, esentially is neutral, he was the benefactor, if the books and the club was run well under ridsdale why would he bother getting behind shepherd, and have you noticed, since gordon shepher took over, the 3 or 4 players he helped to bring in have all been top performers of late especially, and we havnt seen kell yet this season, i saw him last and he was fantastic

similarly, music, we were all raving about it on here the other day, didnt happen under ridsdale, we were all complaining about it a few months ago

manager, appointed and supported and allowed time to develop his team by the board, when his softly softly style was supported by the club, the fans on here all criticised, how wrong we all were.

financially, erm, no warning bells, rumours coming out of the club, honest, straight forward figures do, its not pretty, but its stable, another improvement,

sorry, i think most on here would want this board over the previous two, who would disagree?

RE: There is a story to be told...

They appointed the manager and sanctioned the spending on the players who have made us a better team.

I think you will find PR was struggling to find additional investment.

Cardiff City were £30M in debt prior to Mr Ridsdale's arrival...

Like Leeds Tyke, I can virtually guarantee that Mr Ridsdale left the club in a better position than it was when he arrived. Don't forget that he projected losses of £3m, £2m and £1m over three season...and so far we have been along those lines.

As for Barnsley being a "stepping stone",you imply that he used us. I put it to you that it was the other way round. I know for a fact that he lost money.

They dont want to hear that.......only that its all Ridsdales fault.

The damage was done prior to PR arrival.

    Hold on

I thought Ridsdale was removed by Cryne because he overspent the yearly budget? </p>

    3.5 million published losses.

1/2 mill more than projected and he only completed half the season!!

    RE: INCORRECT.

Half a million more in projected losses in reality ie 3.54 million as opposed to a forecast of 3 million and he only lasted half the season!!

No, you are wrong...those losses were based on the first

season out of administration, Gudjon's season where Hart came in.

and more came out of the woodwork upon takeover...

than was obvious prior to that. That half a million was taken up with unforseen expenses that were not accounted for in the business plan and were not "obvious" when the club was bought by Ridsdale/Cryne

    Lost money?

I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt regarding the state of the club. He did a decent job in a bad time for BFC.
However, to suggest that he lost money from the enterprise seems a bit odd to me. Surely he wasn't running the club for free?
I don't know the ins and outs of who owned what etc.... but surely Ridsdale was a business man looking for a well paid job in football. Cryne provided him with one.
Why on earth would Ridsdale risk his own money on BFC? He wasn't a fan and by all accounts he's not especially wealthy (in football terms anyway)

    RE: Only..

That's ******. Cryne's the one who personally guarateed loans. The club were way behind on payments on one particular loan and PR was ignoring all correspondence. That may have kicked PC into action to get rid if his own moeny was on the line.

    RE: Only..

It just seems dubious to me. Why risk his own money on a business venture that was never likely to make him money. More to the point, if he had lost money....why leave?

The most plausible explanation is that Cryne paid him a salary and got rid of him when it turned out he wasn't doing the job he was being brought in to do. No doubt I'll be shot down in flames by people saying he 'owned the club' etc.
