Time to calm down methinks, parachute payments don't come into it. There has been no compensation paid at all, West Ham and Sheffield United settled out of court therefore there was no ruling against West Ham, Sheffield United dropped their action in return for the settlement, West Ham made a business decision to pay the blunts the money they did rather than risk paying out even more in legal fees and, God forbid, compensation should the court rule in the blunts favour.</p>

No legal precedent has been set.</p>

Anyone who wants to claim against West Ham will still have to prove in a court of law that the Tevez affair was illegal and caused their grievance.</p>

Anyone who wants to claim against the blunts will have to do the same.</p>

I'm sure that the aftermath of the affair will grumble on for some time and I'll cheer on anyone, individual or club who try to get some money out of Sheffield United (except Leeds &amp; Ken Bates), but I fear they will do nothing except give their money to the social leeches called lawyers.
