So Bobby Hassell didn't ignore any of you guys or swear at you?

    He's a lovely bloke

But I can't emphasise enough how impressed I was with Bobby Hassell. I wonder whether we'll see another Barnsley player have such a long playing career with our club?

I don't think we'll see service like Bobby has given for a long time. He deserves a testimonial more than anyone I can think of and I hope he gets it. Did he get asked about his thoughts about getting another year to take him to his testimonial?

    Re: He's a lovely bloke

PC has instructed that assuming he's still here next year, and its looking ever more likely, that Sir Bobby will be kept on and he will be given a Testimonial. Whether he gets a game before then is debatable(and doubtful). He is a wonderful ambassador for the club, always has time to speak and is never derogatory about anyone. He's a true Christian. And I for one, will never forget his heroics at Rochdale and what he did to save the game for us!!

    Yes, he did get asked

Matt has to take great credit for asking all the relevant and pertinent questions and Bobby for answering them.
Bobby's aim for the past couple of years was to get through to his testimonial year. Unfortunately, he doesn't believe he'll manage it, especially with his contract running out next Summer. If he did manage it, he wants Celtic to be the opponents as he's a fan. However, he said he'd also bend John Dennis' ear (he was in the audience) as he was good friends with the Rangers owner and they'd be a good alternative.

    Re: No

Of course he'll get his testimonial if he wants one, it's unthinkable that he wouldn't. And I would hope Bobby will still be involved with BFC in some capacity after he stops playing.

Though if he wanted to ply his trade in the lower leagues at somewhere like Sheffield United, that is his prerogative and I for one would wish him all the best. :)

I believe he should have one

And, if he wants it to be against Celtic, then that's what the club should arrange. Unfortunately, Bobby appears to be of the opinion he won't be here for his tenth season as a player.

But Biglil if he isn't first choice (Stones Wiseman are younger and yet to peak) and he'll earn more than them then hows it sustainable to have him at the club on current wages.
Did he say if he wants to stay and if he would take a wage cut?

    Plus

His current contract expires in the Summer, there has been no talks about a new one and he has been told he'll be a bit part player this season. I'd love all those issues to be reversed, as I believe he has the ability to make a positive contribution both to the team and club.

Re: I believe he should have one

He is out of contract in the summer so I'm sure wages would be discussed but regardless of money he is a better full back than Wiseman (IMO) and I can't think of a better mentor for Stones anywhere in the football league.

He said he wants to stay

As believes he's good enough to hold down a first team place. As I posted earlier, I believe he's a better right back than either Scott Wiseman or Tom Kennedy and is more consistent at this moment in time to John Stones, although this is only to be expected. Keith Hill thinks otherwise and it's his opinion which counts most.
His personal salary wasn't brought up.

    Bobby Hassell and John Stones

Are good friends. John Stones is always seeking advice, both with regards to football and off the field issues. This, to me, is a good indicator he has his head screwed on properly and is willing to listen and learn. I can't think of a better mentor for him than Bobby Hassell.
