To take the discussion back a few week. We've seen the effect that can happen if you get yourself out in the media and in the public. CEO and Head Coach have to sell the club to everyone, be that Fans, sponsors and potential players.

It's something Ben Mansford was good at. From the moment he joined people knew about it.

First day in a new job? He'll be meeting and introducing himself to staff members surely? I know that's what I'd do like but maybe I'm a little too simplistic in my approach.

I appreciate that. Hours went into ours. And trust me, it will only get better over time. Happy to receive feedback or suggestions to improve it.

He did. Upon appointment. Read the website. He then did local press. And, in time he will do further including video/audio stuff.

    Home kit statuses:
    Aston villa: not out yet
    Barnsley: OUT
    Birmingham: not out yet
    Bolton: not out yet
    Brentford: not out yet
    Bristol: not out yet

I'll be honest at that point I got bored but I think the point is proven.

And I'm fairly sure that once he's settled in(it is his first day, FFS) you will see him promoting the club and doing media duties.

Think back to one of your first days at work(!). The majority of the day is familiarising yourself with the company's structure, getting to know your colleagues filling out forms and doing health and safety ****. It doesn't leave time for much else...

But I think you already know this and are just taking the opportunity to be a knob...

    Criticise the owner
    Criticise the manager
    Criticise our better players
    Criticise our media team.

I'm fed up cos all you wanna do is criticise.

That one hour might be the difference in getting decent players in or not.

I couldn't give a chuff if we don't hear from him for weeks.

He's got things to sort. And players and contracts is absolutely number 1.

    Get off your horse ffs

I don't get the chance to have a p!ss at work some days, let alone an hour out to ponce about in front of a camera. And Jean Paul will be getting paid considerably more than I do to do a much more demanding job.

The blokes been in the job a day and already you're on his back.

Unfortunately whitey is part of the family on here, which puts him in a little bit of a predicament, due to some folk feeling it's right to expect more info. However these days because he's is now a insider lol and an employee at the club he has to be guarded on how what and when, concerning any news out of oakwell that is disclosed on here.
No doubt because he takes pride in his job he also feels that having a go at the media team and the lack of news coming out of oakwell is a slight on him and his colleague/s...I know I would.
That said from a fans point of view we are like any other set of fans....we want spoon feeding the news all the time......most agree that under ben, things were a tad different, the club engaged with the fans which helped. The new CEO only took up office today so most likely had bigger priorities to deal with than over seeing a shirt release, a home kit that yes was new and was a income stream ..but like previous years we all new the answer and wasn't surprised to know that it was red and white . Also I should suspect that doing an interview with the media team on his first day would be more than an hindrance than anything else....maybe the chronicle could run a cover advert introducing him, so everyone in the borough would know who he is.
That said it's 18.37 and I'm amazed inspector clouseau hasn't already got his finger out and tied down at least several premier league players to 3 year contracts let alone Foxes Biscuits on a 5 year sponsership deal...and yes I blame whitey .....He shouldn't have kept him talking about morrisons and whether Roy (bossman) was going to get his hand in his pocket and buy around of drinks.....mmmmm now that's what I call a priority don't you Andy lol

At what point did the appointment of a glorified club secretary become something that is on a par with signing new players ?

That's not a dig at our new chap, but the abomination that has made pen pushers and off field staff on a par with players.

    What a load.

He's already binned Harrogate spa water in favour of evian and instructed biscuit Barry to ditch the digestives in favour of pain au chocolat at all future meetings

Haha. I don't take anything as a dig at me. I just try - because like you say, I have been on here for years - to answer any questions I can relating to my line of work. I don't have to, don't need to. I like to. If ever I can help I always try. And I'd like to think there's many on here who I helped last season, with many requests etc.

But I can only affect so much. I am never going to announce a new signing or give exclusives. I value my job. And if folk think I can make a CEO do as I choose, or a head coach, then you misjudge my influence! :D

I ought to just ignore such threads but I think that's the easy way. I try and engage. And maybe one day, Hemsworth and his mate from Huddersfield might actually praise the club. Maybe. ;)

You're the ideal consumer for modern football. You unquestioningly swallow all the overhyped, overpriced **** in the game and still nothing is ever enough. You're even including the sponsor's name when referring to the leagues ffs.

So you didn't think there was a difference between Linton Brown and Ben Mansford or Ben Mansford and Don Rowing?

How many times did you hear LB speak? The lack of anything from him was awful. Thinking back personally, 2/3 times including the Q and A.
