As an ex referee, I criticise officials at Oakwell as much as anyone,but on this occasion disagree with most of your points. Sitting in the East stand, how can I say a ball on the west stand side is out of play when the linesman is in such a better decision to decide? Haven't seen any other postings mentioning the officials?

Jlw, you used to be a ref ? well i could never do that but i am always quick to criticise them. make of that what you will

 

Nope. But I'm capable of throwing hissy fits at officials to match any other drama queen. I even throw in the odd flounce.

 

Thought we edged it & were the only team going to win the match after we equalised.

Understandably they "parked the bus".

Shame we can't make the playoffs, as I think on our day we can beat any of those 4.

We'll be a better team next season, but there will be Wigan & Millwall to contend with.

 

they are like traffic wardens arent they JLW, nobody gives a damn about them but we are all desperate for them when something goes wrong.

id really like to know how the likes of gary willard got to be a premier ref though!!

 

That's fair. I'm not one for looking to pass the reason for any shortcomings of my own team onto the match officials, usually. But I think the quality of the referees & their assistants has been particularly disappointing this season and they're certainly not above criticism as some seem to think.

 

I'm looking forward to how Johnson develops the squad this Summer.
