Isn't it possible he went through a difficult thought process where he thought he wanted to see through what he had started then Wednesday wafted so much cash at him he couldn't resist. Not really his fault that we employed that plank Hendrie who wasted the cash he had secured for us on players like Sheron. It was poor managerial recruitment that stuffed us not losing a manager.
That myth has gathered momentum since the apprentice left for a bigger company who offered more money. I don't ever remember being asked to buy shares, most people had already bought shares expecting a nice dividend in another year irrespective of who was in charge. Even when another up and coming apprentice was promoted, everyone still expected a great performance with the company re-entering the FT top 100. Bearing a grudge against a former employer who moved on for more money and a bigger company for 15 years is just not healthy. Get over it.
Really don't want a man who has shat on the club... But if we do appoint him, I will want him to succeed. I daresay I'll be calling for calm if we're on a losing run of a few games and you and your ilk are calling for his head.
that's just selective memory then, i'm afraid. danny wilson publicly confirmed he was staying, and asked everyone to go and renew their season tickets. it definitely happened.
I had an ilk once but lost it down the back of the sofa. Shat on the club by getting us promoted to the premiership and leaving is both cash and player rich. I really wish sone heartless ******* would become our manager tomorrow get us promoted to the premiership, sign some fantastic players leave us with the parachute money then sod off to Wednesday. I even support you as manager if you shat on us like that.
What I would like tomorrow at half time and full time, not during play, is several rousing choruses of "Walking in a Wilson Wonderland"
We had a fantastic team and should have been play off certainties who would have not bought a season ticket either way.
Which part is incorrect then. Did we not get promoted to the premiership? Did we not get and waste the parachute money and money generated from flogging players he bought like Ward. Was the team that only just got relegated rubbish please enlighten me.
Maybe at that time he thought he was staying and the big money offer came later. He didn't need to ask, most people were happy to renew their tickets any way. I'd already made my mind up I was getting another whether he stayed or left. Are you trying to tell me you only renewed because you thought Wilson was staying and that you wouldn't have renewed if you'd known he was going? If Redfearn and Ward hadn't also buggered off for more money, we would probably have still been promoted even with the novice that was John Hendrie. Any way forget Wilson, warrabart that Arthur Fairclough - pissed off to Huddersfield after we won the FA Cup the Judas
bottom line is, i'd be fine with him returning. it wouldn't be my choice, but i'd back him if he came and i imagine it would create some much needed feelgood factor. but the way he left us was more than questionable. it just happens to have been a long time ago.
Aye he wouldn't necessarily be my first choice but if it's between him and yet another promotion from within with no experience at this level a part of a failed team and who was booted out at Fleetwood as his last job then it's not a hard choice.
Nah dunt get he started on that chuff. And Tommy Taylor no wonder there's no statue of him at Oakwell judas.
Again whilst not disrespected the Cod Army's finest ex employee wouldn't exactly be an inspired choice. He will have my support and I've enjoyed both the games I've seen him chose teams for but as Einstein said the definition of madness Is to repeat the same behaviour again and again but expect different results.
The way I see it is. Your missus says your the only one for her and won't ever hurt you. Then she leaves you at at a time when your at your lowest, and straight away starts seeing the **** from your local. And after he's done what he's wanted and ruined then binned her off her she wants you back. I have nothing against having him back. Just has he done enough since leaving to deserve a crack at the Championship since leaving us.
For ****'s sake! Judas? Shat on us? Get a grip. Firstly, since Wilson every manager we've had has been sacked, apart from Robins, who was as good as, after being put on garden leave and given his notice. So chances are, if he'd stayed with us for long enough he'd have eventually been sacked too. He left us for a bigger team with more money and in a higher divison. It's just geography that it happened to be a local rival, but with Wilson being an ex-Wednesday player it's no surprise that they wanted him and he'd be tempted. Ritchie tried to leave us for Wednesday, but the board wouldn't let him (before sacking him shortly after!). Is Ritchie a Judas? And as for telling us lies...it could also be called changing his mind. It was a very difficult decision for him to make, hence the dithering. It wasn't the best timing and it was a damned shame that he left, but **** happens. Wilson has certainly never said anything but good things about BFC, his time here and, particularly, the fans. But really, are you so fickle that you wouldn't have renewed your season ticket if you knew that he was leaving? Redfearn left too that summer. Again to go to a bigger club in a divison higher up. As did Ward. As did Hignett. As did Hirst. As did May. As did Vaz Te. The list goes on. We're not that big a club and we don't pay anything like some of the top flight clubs can pay. As much as I hate the "we only have a short career" excuse for footballers being greedy at the top of the game, when we have players and managers at our level the chance to make a life changing move comes along rarely, so it is rarely turned down. I can only think of Darren Barnard who turned down such a move and I bet he regretted it with hindsight. And from a career point of view it was perfect timing for Wilson. He'd served his apprecnticeship at the second tier and had excelled, getting a club promoted to the top flight for the first time on a shoestring and playing entertaining football to boot. Ultimately it was a step too far, but we weren't embarrassed in the Premiership and had a fair few good results along the way. But after we went down it was clear that it was going to be harder to get back up there. A lot of the team that got us there in the first place had left or at least were two years older and it was clear that some of the bigger money signings hadn't worked out. But he'd left us with money in the bank and with saleable assets, certainly in a much better place than when he'd started (although with hindsight we now realise he'd left both the fans and the board with unrealistic expectations of where we thought we should be, but that's not his fault). But he'd taken us as far as he could take us, further than we thought we'd ever get, and he was ready for the next challenge. Of course, he dithered and the break wasn't as clean as it could have been, but that's often the case when who you're with has meant so much to you and you're torn in your decision. I'm pretty sure that all the Judas stuff was just how some of the fans were dealing with the disappointment, but after 15 years I would have hoped that you would have got over it by now. He got the b*ggers relegated anyway, so what more could we have asked for!
