If they think it gives the away team an advantage in a huge game, I totally understand it. Statistically speaking I’ve no idea whether there’s any substance to it, but I definitely see why they would see it that way.
It's down to the players on the pitch and there are still more home fans. I wish the North stand was sold out with 5k away fans every game. More cash for the club and way better atmosphere. 202 Cheltenham fans were a downer after being spoilt with Derby, Bolton and Lincoln before them.
The best and biggest away allocation we've ever had in my time. has to be Anfield. (Not the Don fekk up) in 82. Most memorable atmosphere ever from tarn fans. You had to be there. Outnumbered the home fans or very close. Estimated 15-17k on the night. On 3 sides of the ground..only the Kop unoccupied by us. I love it when the away fans fill the away end. And their team gets beat. Wendy Leeds Man utd Man city Sheff utd Derby etc Nowt like it. If we lose it's expected by the Billy big bo11ox lol, soon forgotten
Our fans have been outnumbered by opponents' fans in our 18 away games, of which we have lost just one. We have outnumbered away fans in our 20 home games, of which we have lost six. Does it really make that much difference?
