Agreed but about as much chance of that happening as us getting Wilder unfortunately In any case there isnt a vacancy and I've given up trying to guess how long that will remain the case
I am all up for the modern world give a female a chance,I am not stuck in the past with sexism etc,so get a female coach in,if she is good enough who cares
Unfortunately I would probably agree which is a shame given our record of fairly innovative appointments like Viv back in the day.
The way I see it to be first is to get the best, very much like the first black players in the 1970s, because of the old prejudices there was a window whereby you got a distinct advantage by signing black players, because you a better player for your money. I think maybe the top of the Women's game is already too good/prestiduce for Barnsley, but there must be a temptation to get someone like Emma Hayes, who lets face it is probably a vastly superior coach to the wingnut we're currently stuck with.
She'd also probably see moving to Barnsley as a step down. She's already said as much when a League 1 club came in for her, so not sure she'd see a bottom of the table Championship club on a League 1 budget as much of a move.
Would love to see someone like Rapinoe given a chance. Got no clue what she’d be like as a coach, but she’s clearly a talented footballer and not scared to shake things up. Can’t think of anyone in Football today as willing as her to try to openly change things and stand up to authorities.
If there's a female candidate that is black, gay and has some form of disability.... I'll subsidise the salary to make that happen!
I’m not really bothered who our coach is or what their background is as long as they get us competing again and are a decent human being. I went a bit “flicker” at the end there, apologies.
When you think about it makes a lot of sense, it's a completely untapped source of potential talent. In theory we would be able to attract someone with much more ability.
