I'm not all that surprised that there hasn't been a statement by the club yet but I think there will definitely be something announced, one way or another, once the season is finished.
Keep emailing and in contact through twitter regards Watkins, they won't talk about this, disgusting, needs to go, as does Taylor.
I would wold guess that Maurice is acting for us, because our positions as changed..ie not Barnsley Tykes,FC but just say Barnsley ASOS FC or something like and thats how we'd pick up the short-fall in moneys if we drop...
I'm not surprised either. To be honest I wouldn't be surprised to find him still in place come August.
Haven't voted - can't see the options on mobile. I don't think I want a takeover. I like being the plucky underdog; the little club that puts a dent in a big club's promotion/play off bid; the club that no one wants to face on a wet November evening; a club that opposing fans (in general) don't despise. A big money buyout kills all that, we stop being that club and become just the latest club to sign the usual bunch of mercenary types (yeah, I know, pretty much all footballers are but I'm referring to those who seem to crop up at whichever club has been recently taken over and has a bit of cash to burn) in a bid to become bigger than they are. But equally, I don't want to see us going down the crapper, broken and penniless, playing in a stadium that's less than 25% occupied and getting beaten by the likes of Fleetwood and Burton. I'd like some kind of middle ground. A takeover (or not) that leaves us financially secure with a greater connection to the community with a reasonable supply of academy talent trickling through to the first team before moving on to bigger and better things like Stones did. Maybe it's an ideological daydream, but that's what I'd rather have.
It wouldn't surprise me either but I just don't see how this can be defined as anything other than a complete conflict of interests.

I'm with you mate The middle ground as you described is the only way for me. However, if there was no middle ground option available then I guess we'd have to take the lesser of the 2 evils which for me would have to be take the money and move on up.
Re: I'm with you mate Of course once you'd sold your soul to some say Yemeni businessman who then could hold your club to ransom and decide I'm going to move your home ground to Bridlington and only sign players called Monty because it's a sign of luck in the Yemen and if you object I will just close your club down. We would have no grounds to object right? Do a deal with the devil you get what's coming to you.
