I sat in the North Stand the day it first opened (December 1999 against Port Vale if memory serves) - the stand was split between the away fans on the west side and home fans on the east. I don't see why there would be a problem doing that again.
Showed as sold out before. Someone must've cancelled a transaction or something. (Probably wanted two together...)
There isn't a problem, we've done it this season. All depends if Bolton have unreserved seating on their tickets.
The only possible problem will be staffing. Didn't need any extra staff to open the North stand when the East closed.
Why risk it? tensions high, a lot at stake , just need the wrong un's in there and its another fine at best!
If they were going to open north stand .May be able to gauge demand by offering seats on standby .if demand is great, turn these into sales.
I think the small window they were going to get to make the decision was this morning, and it's gone. A few criticisms of the club, for sure, but we're not blameless. If the fans had bought tickets when they first went on sale, rather than waiting to "see how the first leg goes", we'd have been full by the end of last week, giving more time & justification for a decision to be made on the North Stand. It's a bloody play-off semi-final!!! Anyone dithering over tickets last week who now faces missing out, has only themselves to blame.
All the clubs agreed on the away allocation and there was no mention the North Stand would be open to home fans to my knowledge. Some people waited for the away leg score and just assumed they would be able to sit there.
It's not unreasonable for people to expect the club to sell tickets for seats which we have in the ground where there is demand. If we don't open it, it's a really poor do in my opinion.
There were more tickets in the East Stand available at the start of yesterday and today than in the West Stand. But we use anything we can to have a dig at the old stand.
Maybe the income to be gained by it being on Sky more than offsets the money from a few extra fans in the north stand, plus the extra stewards, catering, bogs and simple inconvenience.
