Dunno. I dont go to as many games as I used to. I suppose that's what Im doing about it. I find the quality of the entertainment not worth the price for every game and the disconnect with the club is increasing I'm afraid. Sad state of affairs I know

The potential for women and girls to watch football is huge. Get them to attend the women's game, then some will come to the men's game, then their kids will come to games. Future growth is female; embrace it.

Not sure how many times it needs reiterating but the club have always said the cost of running the Ladies team is non existent to the club. So like you e pointed out I can’t see how it’s anything but a positive.

Football generally seems to be cyclical though, whilst we were on our ‘high’ Coventry & Luton have been through some horrific times as clubs and both could have easily not be here anymore as for Bournemouth they struck lucky with a Russian owner who threw hundreds of millions of £ into a small team.

Even if it did cost money, why should the women's team suffer? They're not even professional yet for crying out loud. Its mental to me that all this is being said after 2 poor performances. Its like we as a fan base has collective bipolar.

Khaleds job should have been split, one person shouldn't be the head of so many different fields. Its silly we've waited this long to do it.

Sadly the club have pitched itself in the buy cheap, develop, sell for profit game. If I remember correctly this plan was promoted by Conman and company and the idea was that profits made from sales would be ploughed into better players who could then be sold on but during this time we would be developing the team..unfortunately though we find ourselves having to plough any profits from sales like Anderson and Kitchen back into running the club. meanwhile despite board changes we continue this process with players like Dallas and Shaw but now find they're not good enough and were over inflating the squad and therefore the running costs. as someone said back to 2/3 buys and concentrate on promotion and a bigger share of the TV money..

I really don't get this mentally mate. Every club is run how we are, barring the elites. Id suggest the fact we've just got 8/9 million from just 2 players means its working. Unfortunately we are still suffering from the Conway Lee era so it needs time to be rectified. The board wouldn't pump in millions and millions just to piss it up wall. We are in the play offs, we've got new staff, and we need to give them time. Especially considering they joined after the transfer window.

It seems like since the play off season during Covid, each season we have had an average start, good middle of the season and then fizzle out in the last few games. Almost as though teams had us worked out by the end of each season and knew exactly how to nullify our play. Yes you could argue that we were the better team in last years play off final but we lost it and certainly played much better football prior to the last set of games leading up to the end of season.

Last season we only won 1 of our last 5
Previous season only won 1 of last 10 (horrible season)
Champ play off season we did better however by the end of the season we looked jaded.

Maybe it's that January transfer window when we should be adding that extra bit of quality and depth to the squad which would keep us fresh and full of energy.

Still plenty to play for this season of course, but it just seems to me we are fizzling out to nothing and running out of ideas on the pitch to break teams down.

When we had our season in the Premier League, Doncaster were relegated from Division 3 to non-league and the 4 teams immediately above them were Brighton, Hull, Cardiff and Swansea - all of which have played in the Premier league since. Bolton were relegated from the Premier League with us and Manchester City were relegated to Division 2.

Football can be very cyclical - but I'm sure our friends from Sheffield were still crap!

Spot on mate. As I've said in a previous post it's like a marriage we're in it for 'better or worse' and 'til death us do part'. I've been watching Barnsley since 1955 as a seven year old. "Plus ça change" and I wouldn't want it any other way.

Interesting question that you make and the stats support some of it, however for quite a few years it seems our January transfer windows are significantly better than our summer ones which should contradict the stats.
Also see Collins has said after 5 games in a short period of time Cole & Williams needed a rest despite now having 2 week break.

Yep pal your right about the 2 we got good money for and maybe I wasn't clear on the buying and selling bit I dislike..Ye we sold Anderson and Kitch for good money and most teams like us eventually sell their top players after they've had some service and the club have benefitted from that development. Dallas & Shaw have given us nowt but we are paying for em and they aren't even playing at the loan clubs..Lopata and Shepherd are also costing us but did play a bit, despite this neither would make a championship squad if we go up. we've just got out of the debacle that was the 2 Belgians and were allegedly on good wages. These 6 wages should have been used on 2 better quality players fit and able to strengthen our push for promotion..hence my dislike of
" Punts" ..look at Earl, a good signing, improved the team and we'll get good money when he moves on after we've benefited from his service...no problem wi that..

I agree with a lot of what you say, though, after being very impressed initially by Earl, his form seems to have dipped in recent games.

That's pretty much where I am now. I'll not be getting a season ticket for the first time since god knows when (the 90s). I have a 100 mile round trip to attend oakwell, takes 7hrs out of my Saturdays, and I'm simply not enjoying it. I've been to 6 games this season, so it's been a costly ST per match. It's not just BFC though, my disconnect is with football in general these days, it's a much more polished product, but as a spectacle for fans it's much poorer than years ago. I'll pick and choose games to go to, watch on iFollow, but definitely no season ticket for me (or r kid, or my dad), even if we get promoted.
