You are seeing things that aren't there. There were alomost 100,000 people on a march in Manchester on Sunday. BBC Coverage nil. NHS Privatisation dissent coverage nil.

For clarity, it is not its views that I have an issue with it is the constant barrage of lies, half truths, scare mongering and support for vested interests that I take exception with.

Here we go again, with people on both the right and left claiming bias of the BBC to the other side. For me that shows that they do a pretty good job at going down the middle.
As to comments about dramas, not that I've watched Eastenders or Casualty in years but to me all they've ever done is reflect what is going on, now if you perceive that to be a left-wing bias then fine, but it has been said many times that "reality has a left wing bias"! But then look at programmes like Spooks, it can be argued that they have a right-wing bias given their storylines.
Geez, with all that left-wing bias on CBeebies and The One Show, you must be constantly ranting at the commies on your TV!

As for The Daily Mail, like Farnham, I had to look at their site to see if what they had said was what was being reported and it's worse. What they have wrote is beneath contempt, not just in attacking the family of a politician but in attacking the memory of a WW2 veteran who fought for this country. Our MP, Dan Jarvis, wrote a good article on the subject today
    http://labourlist.org/2013/10/the-d...bands-father-will-offend-veterans-everywhere/

I've long said that the Daily Mail is the British equivalent to America's Fox News - and they've gone further down that path with this disgraceful excuse for journalism.

why just the Daily Mail though, they are all as bad as one another from the Mail at one end to the Mirror at the other, they all publish the 'facts' from the angle that suits them. I don't read any paper in particular but it always amuses me when the Mal gets singled out on here like one of the others is publishing the gospel truth!

I don't see any other paper printing that the leader of a political parties dead father hated this country. That's out of order regardless of your politics.

sorry not seen it, just like I say it's always the Mail that cops it when they all publish ridiculous headlines at regular intervals.

The article in question is absolutely revolting at a time when that papers commitment to Britain was to turn it Nazi to denigrate a brave man is appalling.

I'm on your side, Redstar, and a BBC employee as most know, but it's been pretty well documented that TV cameras, and not just those from the BBC, were physically prevented from filming Sunday's march & rally by the police & G4S security.

Of course he hated Britain, Marxists don't believe in nations and want to get rid of them and have the entire world run by the workers, similarly big business and the banks also want to destroy nations and want the world to be run by them and then Muslims too want to get rid of nations and for the world to become an Islamic Caliphate, that means that we are heading inexorably in that direction, the EU being one of the main moves in that direction.

The thing that bugs me most is that this paper that is the self-proclaimed upholder of traditional moral outrage has an entire business model built on being the internet's biggest purveyor of salacious gossip and celebrity sex tales. Their entire website is borderline soft porn. Absolute hypocrisy. And then once they've reeled people in with titillation they hit them with their hate-filled bile.

The website and the newspaper are separate and run by different people.

The website basically takes showbiz stories from around the internet and re-writes them their own way with long headlines so they show up more in google searches, it's all about traffic.

They might be run by different people but still operate under the same banner and post the same stories as in the paper

Seems Ralph Miliband was a very interesting man. In his day of course political ideologies were actually discussed and the way society should be run was open to debate... Politicians had principles and weren't just trying to come up with the latest vote winning piece of propaganda. To dismiss socialism as evil by simply presenting the atrocities committed by the USSR is rather facile, but that's all we can expect from The Daily Mail I'm afraid. In many ways I'm really pleased they've published this as hopefully most fair minded, decent people will see them for what they are...
