that you'll have these polls every month until you finally get the chance to say I told you so?

Thinking back, in my Reds supporting memory only one or two managers haven't been sacked eventually. Clarke turned the club around, walked out on us, only to come back and then get sacked. Norman Hunter got us promoted and then got sacked. Bassett took us to Wembley for the first time and got sacked. Ritchie got us promoted and eventually got sacked.

So saying you'll have a poll every month until eventually it goes wrong. Sorry mate, but you're not really sticking your neck out there are you? Statistics say that whatever happens in the short, medium, or even long term, chances are it will go wrong at some point and Davey will be sacked. He may be one of the lucky ones that does well and gets to move upwards in his career, but that kind of thing happens to only a small percentage of league managers each season.

Look at the outpouring in Newcastle for Bobby Robson...a manager they all loved, but who eventually got sacked!

Work out what it is at the club that you don't like and then have a look to see if they are trying to do something about it. I think you'll find that in all areas on and off the pitch the club, manager and players are attempting to improve things, even if they're not doing it in the way that you would like. Davey is a young manager in his first job and he has made mistakes. He admits his mistakes and is trying to put things right. In the meantime, despite his mistakes he has kept us in the division, when much bigger teams than us have gone down, and he has led us to cup victories that even the sourpusses on here may have enjoyed.

It just seems that everything that goes wrong is his fault and everything that goes right happens despite of him. And you know what, it's getting a bit boring.

Davey has got my support and after hearing his comments tonight and seeing the reception he got, he has a lot more support than you might think. He'll have my support until such a time that he's no longer the Reds' manager.

If we all showed him, and the team, support it just might have a positive effect on the team too. I'd certainly like to think the manager and players are going into the game at Hillsborough with a positive attitude, so hopefully they can ignore or rise above the negativity that is expressed on here all too often.

So yes, I want Davey to do well, I want him to lead our club forward and I want Odejayi to get a hat trick at Hillsborough. But I know that the likelihood is that one day, who knows when, he'll most likely get the sack, like some of our most successful managers have before him. So your poll idea is just a little bit daft really.
