Keep Timerider but play it a little bit later so that it has not finished by the time the players are on the pitch. I appreciate that timing is awkward now they do a little warm up when they come out. In the old days teams didn't need to bother about warm ups other that kicking a few balls about for 2 minutes. Times change.
Could we not ask a local band & producer to make a modern day version of the song? Release it as a charity single for us fans. I’m thinking that band who have played a couple of times the last couple of years? Maybe they would be up for it? Admittedly it is a bit dated now & could do with sprucing up a bit.
But that's a subjective view isn't it? I think Led Zeppelin is old fashioned beyond belief and just wouldn't listen to them. In terms of a tune to walk out to. What is the criteria for a tune? Does it need to uplift? Be motivational? Get the crowd to clap and engage? TimeRider has proven to do that for a generation.
Timerider, where else do you hear it? It’s part of the Oakwell experience along with “arf time draw”.
Agree. Timerider should stay. Nothing that gets played otherwise is gonna mean anywhere near the same, is it? It's not that it's a good song (obvs); it's that it's our own weird little tune, and the build up reminds me of so much BFC history. My mate's think it's hilarious.
Staircase to Heaven. Dazed and Baffled. Good Times, Not So Good Times. Black Canine. Large Amount of Love.
Different season. Same question. And same answers. Anything other than timerider after all these years ain't gunna work imo
I think i've heard of stairway to heaven, has someone covered it? If its the one I'm thinking of, it's one of the most depressing pieces of music I've heard. genuinely never heard of any of the other songs.
As you say, it's all subjective. And often age-related. My music collection would be considerably worsened if it didn't contain Led Zeppelin, but I honestly couldn't name you a single thing by Ed Sheeran or Taylor Swift.
I think Timerider is ****. Proper, awfully, iredeemably ****. But it's our **** and just hearing it brings a smile to my face and memories come flooding back. I wouldn't change it for the world.
It's not Timerider, that's the artist. It's Cocoon, and for me it's what I want to hear when the Reds take to the field.
