We've had this a few times. Quite a few as it happens. And the crowd did nothing.

That went off, cocoon came and everyone sprang into life

They've played Tom Petty's "I won't back down" a few times during the teams warm up sessions in previous seasons. Cracking tune. I don't mind Timerider, its our tune in a Simon Bates style.

I don’t think it’s supposed to be crowd interaction music. I remember when I was a kid it was played just before the teams came out. It always made hairs on the back of my neck stand on end.
I’ve always thought the horn fanfare then into something to get the crowd going would be ideal.

Ice hockey does it best, but they have the advantage of lighting etc

The #getTimeriderback thing I kicked off back in 2013 after we got lumbered with the White Stripes helped but don’t fancy having to bring it back again. Please ha.

I love timerider, one of the first things I loved when I first came and always been the same. Wembley was amazing when it got belted out. I can't wait for the first game back when it fires up, the noise will be really loud!!

Yeah, Jase introduced that a couple of years ago now. It replaced Fanfare, as the song just prior to Cocoon.

Personally, I’d prefer Going The Distance, Fanfare and then Cocoon.

And then as they get out the tunnel, Du Hast by Ramstein. But that (Du Hast) was given a firm no by those above me.

I’ve basically accepted Cocoon is going nowhere, unless the owners told us otherwise. At this point, they’ve not.

They ought to really use a song by a Sheffield based band such as Human League...One!!

I've just listened to that song (Du Hast).... well, I say listened.... I mean endured about 18 seconds really... I hope they said in newly acquired Barnsley accents.... oi... thee.... gi thi eead a wobble will tha.

I tend to think generally the best intro tunes don't have words to them or very very few.

I've always loved Rob Dougan instrumentals (mainly from matrix fame) and the only other song (which does have words) that has motivational factor for me is Ali in the Jungle by the Hours.

And I did enjoy Pompeii being played at the Oval when a wicket went down at the Oval in T20s, but thats certainly not meant for Oakwell.... Though the lyric "How am I going to be an optimist about this" could have served us well in some seasons past!

Foo Fighters Pretender is a great walk out tune as is Burn it to the ground by Nickleback. Although there is a version with a choice word or two
I can see why Rammstien was rejected.

Is it just me who has been longing for the day of being back at Oakwell when cocoon fires up a minute before the teams enter the pitch, the ground will be rocking. Monday 17th May/Saturday 22nd will hopefully be that day!!!

What reason were you denied Rammstein? I can just see Valerian and Admuz equipped with chain saws and flame throwers leading the lads out to a pyrotechnic extravaganza. Alex Mowatt breathing fire into the air above the opposition's captain and Helik and Andersen drumming out the beat on brass kettle drums...

Stendel loved it. I love it. But it was rejected back then.

It wouldn’t have been the whole song. Just the instrumental part that kicks in, as they walk out the tunnel.

Brentford play a song by The Streets which I felt suited the walkout quite well too.

Timerider, Cocoon is like a bad Christmas cracker joke. We all agree, it’s bad, but at least it unites us all and we all agree it’s bad.

You try and put a good joke in a Christmas cracker and it divides the table with half explaining why the joke is funny and half explaining why it’s offensive and should never be repeated again.

I still think it would be a good idea for someone to remix Cocoon, modern it up a bit but still in keeping with the original.
