You were talking about forced vaccination. I've seen what you're talking about so no need to bother.

    Yes they are different things.

Similarly, requesting that people stay in their homes and utilising the armed forces to transport them to distant quarantine camps are very different things. You may argue that the latter is an effective way to prevent transmission but that wasn't the question I asked. I asked whether the opening poster considered the army transporting people with positive covid tests to quarantine camps was acceptable or a step too far. Personally, I believe it is a step too far. You may think differently, although I suspect if your husband or child tested positive and were picked up by the army and transported to a quarantine centre you might see it as a worrying concern too.

Of course I would. But it's still not the same as forcibly vaccinating people which was the claim.

Churton... Do yourself a favour and re-read what I wrote. I didn't say they were forcibly vaccinating in Australia, I simply said that there is a video circulating of Aboriginal leaders from the Northern Territory claiming that they are... And there is.

I have the video saved but it won't upload because I susect that it exceeds the file size limit. If I can find a way to compress it I will upload it later and then you can decide for yourself whether it is a valid claim.

Then why did you post it knowing it to be unverified?
Don't bother answering that. We know why. You hoped people would believe it was true. After all the utter rubbish you posted on here about Trump I'm amazed you have the nerve to show your face let alone expect to be taken seriously.

Not being ‘rounded up’ though. Those facilities are predominantly for travellers and Aboriginals who can’t isolate safely.

Just read it. Totally agree, saying there's often 15 people in 3 bedroom houses, largely unvaccinated and army delivering food parcels to them.

What a set of Nazis, eh?:rolleyes:

Did you read the link in the story about the lady who went there?
Posting pictures of her and her daughter there, looked like holiday pics.
In that article it also spoke about people paying to go there.

Here we go, got around the paywall for the likes of @casual tyke and @Tyketical Masterstroke, @Jay to have a read. It is clear from reading this version what Casual Tyke has been doing his "research" on. Nobody is being forced to do anything.

    https://archive.md/jTjO7

This is what happens when you align with these type of people.

"One extreme right wing news group with an international audience followed up describing the 38 indigenous Australians taken to the quarantine facility at Howard Springs as having been “rounded up” by the ADF."

This article I've linked is from an Australian newspaper equivalent to The Times, so hardly even The Guardian in case anyone thinking it is lefty.

    I rest my case.

Thank you. I'm not entirely sure what "type of people" you think I'm aligning with - I quoted you a source from Australia's largest news site earlier in the thread which clearly explained what has been occurring. If you're OK with quarantine camps, then that's fine. I think you're appalling.

The article you've quoted seems to justify the enforced quarantining of people at a facility because there's apparently been "misinformation that people are being held down and forcibly vaccinated, which is false". Moreover, further justification is given that the facilities have WIFI (woooo) and have been used in the past by respectable white folk. Oh, that's OK then. They're not being held down and vaccinated, and they can watch Netflix whilst they are forcibly detained against their will.

Read the article you've quoted. Actually read it, and critically appraise it, and tell me where it refutes that these people have been enforced to be detained in a facility away from their homes. They have. It acknowledges it.

If you don't think that's morally and ethically abhorrent then we've got nothing else to say to each other.

This is a country that’s been mistreating this population for hundreds of years.

I’ve called them out before on this board for this racist behaviour. You and the vast majority didn’t give a flying fc uk. But now it’s COVID related all of a sudden you think it’s terrible.

Frankly if you want to see appalling - get up and look in the mirror.

    "I think you're appalling"

Absolutely charming. That source you linked says nothing whatsoever about people being forcibly taken. Others have also pointed this out to you, so I suggest you do the re-reading.

The articles are refuting people being rounded up and taken and also being vaccinated against their will. None of them say anything to suggest it is forced. Until I see a credible source suggesting it is forced then I will believe the three reputable sources above. No I don't think people should be forcibly taken, it goes without saying.

If you want to align with what ***** casual tyke posts then that's your problem. I've just proved it's ******** and you're digging a deeper hole. If you carry on digging then maybe you and Jay will be able to liberate them from these terrible Nazi camps.

Sick to death of people posting unsubstantiated ******** on here and it is dangerous.

By this point I think we’re beyond any sort of debate. There are folk who think any action, however draconian to ‘keep people safe’ against this particular respiratory disease is justified. Fine, I disagree but there you go.

What they need to consider is that a precedent is now set. Anything goes should your govt deem it necessary. “Ah that’ll never happen” - no, and 2 years ago I didn’t think that peoples businesses would be closed, children denied education and the ill denied treatment to ‘protect’ against the aforementioned respiratory disease. Let alone remove civil liberties on an unprecedented scale - and as for ‘quarantine camps’ - that’s just chilling.

As I say, folk have decided their stance. Let’s just hope that future govts are so benign that they don’t impose the same sanctions and restrictions against something that those people don’t consider worthy.
I’ve truly lost faith in a large swathe of my fellow citizens.

    Read this you absolute nutters:

    https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.th...al-elders-hit-back-at-covid-false-information

Over the past few days false claims have been circulating online that Aboriginal people from Binjari and Rockhole were being forcibly removed from their homes and taken to enforced quarantine in Howard Springs, and people including children were being forcibly vaccinated.

None of these claims are true, according to the Aboriginal Medical Services Alliance Northern Territory (AMSANT)

I've lost faith in my fellow citizens' ability to actually do a bit of research and not believe every conspiracy you read.

The "camps" are the exact same premises as what the Australian Olympic athletes quarantined in.

    Nobody is there by force.

And they haven't even done anything wrong on this occasion!

They've tried to reduce the spread in highly populated, low vaccinated households, delivered food parcels and then you've got chumps on the internet comparing it to Nazi Germany. Absolutely vile.
