RE: This is my first posting since he was sacked ........

Just you then? Sat in Oakwell on your tod? We have all had to watch the football, doesn't mean people can't show a bit of grace and thank him for his efforts.

So you'd rather have teh ****

That we endured under Parkin, Hendrie, Hart, or Spackman.

FFS what a waste of time the last ten years have been for you.

When I look back at my time supporting Barnsley I will be glad Simon Davey took us to Wembley.

That will be one of my highlights of supporting Barnsley. And for that I am grateful.

I can't remember a single game under that Icelandic bloke. Fekcing hell I can't even remember his name.

So for the first ten years of watching Barnsley - first division mediocrity season in - season out. And some see those as Halcyon days.

Along came Wilson and brought the miracle of the premier league.

Since we got relegated, Bassett took us to the old Wembley, Andy Ritchie took us to Cardiff and Simon Davey took us back to Wembley and beat two world class teams doing it. That is all that has happened since Danny Wilson left. And for giving me a single fricking reason once every three years to keep going to Oakwell every fortnight, yes I am grateful to Simon Davey for that.

Cos without it it's been a right waste of fecking money and only just better than Tesco's on a Saturday afternoon.

That post is so random I have absolutely no idea ........

...... what point you are trying to make.

What has any of that got to do with the **** that Davey served up, apart from the cup run?

Just re-visit my post that you were replying to - in a nutshell it said I am not thanking Davey for what he produced in nearly 3 years - and I stand by that. The cup run was great, but many teams and many (poor) managers have had good cup runs, it's because a large element of luck and good fortune is required to progress through the rounds, and that's what we had

    ...... **** is everybody on?

Why on earth would I want to catch a train with you from Newcastle when I live in tarn?!

Or, more to the point ... are you trying to start a 'I'm a more devoted fan than you because I travel more miles to watch 'em' argument???

They are saying many thanks for that hard work

Not for the lack of success. It's also courtesy and a nice gesture, to say thanks when someone leaves. It doesn't cost anything or disadvantage us in any way. In fact it no doubt shows us in a good light.

I feel a bit odd having to point this out to you. I'm not a primary school teacher.

No, they aren't just saying thanks for his hard work ...

...... which by the way is the minimum we wanted from him for a very healthy salary, it's was verging on pathetic how many 'thanks Simon' posts were springing up, good riddance to the ******, been **** for us, clueless and stayed far too long, end of story

Not end of story, just your take on it. Can you not grasp that some people think differently to you? Probably not, you must always be right.

RE: They are saying many thanks for that hard work

My view is that if I'd been effectively sacked from a very highly paid job then no one would be thanking me for my hard work on my way out.

I'll stretch to a "thanks for coming, now shut the door behind you."

    Just my opinion.
