Spot on Being small minded won't change a thing ,lees gone good luck to him( unless his results affect us in anyway ) we move on support the lads that have done fantastically last couple of months and the next incumbent whoever it may be ( except Blackwell or Dicanio).
No hard feelings from me. I wanted him gone until very recently and if PC had sacked him tomorrow I wouldn't have worried about it so I can hardly bemoan the fact he is choosing to go. I think it is actually quite remarkable how much luck is involved in his career path so far. It seems like if he sat in a bowl of **** his arse would smell of roses. But he is going to come unstuck soon and I think this may be the move that does it. I can fully understand the draw, with his connections to the club, and think he will have been in a pretty difficult position to be honest. If this is a job that he really wanted at some point then when the opportunity knocks, even if it doesn't feel like the right moment, sometimes in life you just have to take the chance when it comes because otherwise it might not come again at a time you feel is a better moment in time. Indeed, knocking them back can even diminish the chance of being asked again, as in "you said no once so **** you, we don't ask twice" So, farewell LJ. Thanks for trying. You were ok, then ****, then ok, then proper ****, then you got lucky. Can't say I'll miss you, but good luck at Bristol. By god, you are gonna need it.
Maybe behind the scene Patrick was happy to let him go, if the rumours are true that he was trying to engineer a move previously to Rotherham. We move on.
the club is probably relieved that money will be coming in as opposed to out, which is usually the case here when a manager departs.
Yeah you are probably right I imagine Cryne still had the deciding decision in things still though he alluded to that situation on Facebook the other day.
It's the timing what's strange to me. He's got no transfer window to play with, Bristol look like going down, he could lead us out at Wembley, knocking on door of play offs. Why not wait while summer n see how far he can take us this season
He could turn it down, go on another awful run here at Barnsley, whilst Bristol City appoint somebody that manages to keep them up. His chance might not come again to manage a club, that I'd imagine he thinks very fondly of. It's a bit of a kick in the teeth after we stuck by him during that woeful run of form, but besides that I can't really fault him. Their budget (and his pay packet) will be substantially more than ours. They're in the league above, and it's not exactly a massive ask to keep them up considering MK Dons and Rotherham are only a point away. He's obviously got some affiliation with them due to playing there for the best part of his career. On the positive side, we're a much more attractive proposition than we were when Johnson took over. We'll move on.
