What do I want? Improvement, for us to attempt to win every game, for us to not admit defeat throw in the towel and say we're a tiny club with tiny ambitions.

This stupid attitude that we are not big enough for the league we have spent more time in than anybody else is what will ultimately kill Barnsley FC.

We put prices up this season and lost many supporters, the attitude that that somehow justifies us not trying to win games is bizarre. Prices are going up again despite this drop in customer base so when even less supporters turn up next season I suppose you'll be saying that 3rd bottom is an achievement? Prices will go up again to offset the further drop in customer base and the following season 'success' will be mid table in league one. Before long there will be 2,000 people each paying 600 quid to watch us battle it out at the wrong end of league two. Pathetic defeatest attitude that will inevitably kill the club.

Alternatively our board of directors could make some kind of pro-active effort to improve our standing in the community, to increase our customer base, to fill the 15,000 EMPTY seats at oakwell and to increase revenue allowing us to ATTEMPT to compete at this level. That's what I want from BFC, if that is too much to ask then we might as well shut up shop now.

Andy Gray has failed to perform for three consecutive games all season. He's been much better coming in for a game at a time, than been on the team sheet every week. Regardless of how much he is paid (a contract Hill didn't choose to renew by the way), if the manager doesn't think he's good enough then he has a right not to play him. In the same way we seem to have finally realised that Jay Mac isn't good enough - regardless of how much he is paid.

Signings are always a risk, and what I believe Hill is saying is that we need to make sure we're in a position next season where we don't need to rely on snapping up unwanted loan players like Smith, Tongue, etc. and ensure we're stronger in the transfer market in both the summer, and with departing players in January.

I've seen RNL play three times and I don't believe he is ready at all. Looked way out of his depth at Doncaster away, and needs to be giving some game time coming off the bench.

    Re: I don't understand that

Pre-season is the most important time in a player's career.

He'll get the sharpness of a full pre-season at Barnsley Football Club with the management team, followed by some game time in the friendlies.

Either that, or he'll sign for Bradford in July and Hill will admit he was a flop.

i love that one sillytyke moaning about ticket prices, then moaning about having to get lower league players, the reason we are cutting the wage ill is because people are not willing to pay the price we need to charge to pay better players,

Rumour has it that RNL has a face that does not fit. Something to do with Twitter comments made by his father that Hill has taken exception to. Only time I've seen him this season was for 20 minutes away at Donny and he looked better than anything else we had that day, including Vaz te.

Yet the sale of Vaz Te was a board decision NOT a managerial decision.

Just who is pulling the strings at Oakwell?

But it's a vicious circle. Season after season of struggle, punctuated by selling anyone we can get a fee for, is unlikely to attract anyone but the diehard fans such as yourself (and me I guess). Ticket prices in football generally are ridiculous. As are player wages and agents' activities. The whole thing is a mess.

I agree... we simply have to keep faith at the moment and support the club. The game against Reading was garbage in the second half but you could see the result coming in the first. Who do I blame for the result? Well its not the management team. I have complete faith in them to shore up the defence, reinvigorate the midfield and energise the attack IN THE SUMMER. At the moment we are treading water and look like relegation fodder but we will stay up I'm sure of it and on a shoestring budget yet again I expect Hill to make a big go of it next season.....Get behind the team and think ahead.....

    Exactly.
    Glad its not just me.
RNL has been ready all year, and been promised games. But there are non-football reasons for the treatment he's had.
Taking him to Soton, on the bench, sounded hopeful. Then Golbourne gets injured, JayMac starts, meaning an unnamed sub - Dagnall - got called up.
So why, was it Dagnall that came off the bench and not RNL?
Keith himself said that he and Flicker had planned the potential subs etc, which cant have included Dagnall because they cant have known Golbourne would pull up pre-match.
It fcukin stinks what is going off re RNL.
The one thing that makes me wonder about Hillcroft.
The lad has more talent in his earhole than Nouble, Dagnall etc. And his 'attitude' or family shouldnt come into it. I mean, KK signed and vouched for Nile fcukin Ranger!

    Spot on

Just had the same conversation with a lad in the office (Oxford supporter) I think the term I used was "heart ripped out of the team".

I think Keith might have to look abroad in the summer to find the quality of p-layers we need at a price we can afford.
