Don't forget the end of last season that was dire, whats happening this season is no surprise at all.
"There are a number of very sensible people who want Lee Johnson out. " Thanks for the complement Mr Jay !
It breaks my heart seeing my club at the foot of the Third Division. As a middle aged bloke well into my fifties, Barnsley Football Club shouldn't affect me that much. But it does. As with all other fans, I'm hurting at the state of the club on & off the field. If others wish to give me a good kicking for being optimistic last Summer, then they can go for it. I haven't got the will, the fire in the belly to return their aggression. I've no idea where we go from here, I have no idea how to improve things on & off the field. Love Barnsley, hate the way it's hurting me.
this post tell me everything now... when Kev is posting stuff like this then I know its serious... what to do is anyones guess, that's if they do anything at all, which seems to be their plan.
Re: this post tell me everything now... I was devastated when we were relegated in 1959 from the Second Division. The one thing I that never entered my head was that it would take two decades to return to the Division where most supporters felt we belonged. The 20 years was of dross football, two delegations to the Fourth Division, before the board had the balls to appoint a player/manager and backed him to the hilt. If we are relegated again, I can foresee a similar scenario of twenty years in the doldrums.
Re: this post tell me everything now... I can foresee a similar scenario of twenty years in the doldrums. That would be appauling but act now BFC show some spine and we can climb our way out of this mess!
Not my intention at all. Absolutely fine to have been optimistic in the summer. My point was that it has turned out that everyone who was optimistic was wrong. Nowt wrong with that. You, I and every one of us are wrong with our predictions about football all the time. If we weren't we'd be very rich men and women thanks to the bookies. I used the optimism of the summer as a good example of how wrong we can all be. The majority thought we would do well. The majority now think the right course of action is to sack Johnson. They're convinced of it. If they were so wrong in the summer, isn't it possible that they're wrong about what to do now too?
I was wrong in the Summer, so there's justification in others who are demanding we sack Johnson when I'm not that I'm wrong again. I've frequently admitted I know nothing about the game.
