I've met him a couple of times, hes a decent bloke. But if hes been talking about players we've got at the club to random supporters and getting them to promise not to say anything to other fans just before the end of season transfer madness begins then thats amateurish and naive and he wants pulling to task over this by someone in the Boardroom

 

I think he's just a very open bloke, pal. There's a few lads on here who attended a training session at Oakwell recently and he was similarly open with them too. I think it's a good/positive thing, but obviously others will disagree. Ben too was very open yesterday, it's a trait I prefer rather than the "don't tell em, Pike" scenario we've had previously.

 

Nothing wrong with openness
But it is don't tell em pike because you say he made you promise not to tell whatever it was he said.

Like I said, very naive to start telling random fans his private thoughts/opinions and ask them not to say anything. Especially someone who's a bit of a social media junky and will drip feed bits out onto wherever forum.

 

I think you've mistaken me with the lad who does the matchday drinker thing.

As for the bit about him making us promise not to say owt, I said no such thing. I said 'we' promised we wouldn't go into detail. Which I haven't done. Maybe if you'd held your fire a little bit and thought to PM me I might have been more illuminating.

Ok , I didn't quote word for word, but he obviously told you things in confidence about players otherwise you wouldn't say you didn't want to break confidence. I'm not arsed what was said to be honest, I just believe he shouldn't be speaking to random fans about specific players unless hes willing to say the same publicly.

 

Ah well.
