Good game, loads of positives, we do look fit, but it is still very obvious we need a striker or two and a keeper.
I think they were trying to suggest that the offside player didn't come into contact with the ball. He did come into contact with the only covering defender though, and therefore was interfering with play.
This keeper for us looks a bit raw still. Doesn’t seem to know where his starting position in goal should be etc.
agreed loads of positives for me, look more athletic and sharp, need to polish set pieces we were abysmal last year and had plenty of corners, penalty etc
I enjoyed that. Look promising with the press much more in evidence. It always seems as though the players are making more of an effort if the press is organised. Definitely a different approach from last season. Noticeable difference in the positive and quick interchanges. Stand outs for me were Yanganathan and Styles in the second half and Baz in the first half. Gives us plenty of hope for the future. Liking DC's approach. He must have been pleased with today.
Enjoyed that. Good energy and pressing from the team and it looked like they weren't intimidated by a more experienced side. Something to build on and good signs for the season ahead. I think this time last season we were losing 9-1 to Leeds.
Gave a good side a decent game, if Styles is to be the LWB then I have no complaints at all, but we need a centre forward and a goalkeeper. Smith is a strange signing unless Killip is going. He isn’t a number one.
Quite enjoyed that, should have at least drawn . key takeaways for me: cotter looks a real threat down the right hand side Jalo looks more than comfortable up top and a threat. Hope he gets plenty of game this year Styles decent down the left hand side Good to see Donny back Set pieces slightly uninspiring Lack cutting edge and still vulnerable on the counter Beer tastes decent
I'm not judging. Just adding context for anyone who was unaware of the history between the player and manager.
I was taking lightweight to mean he's easily bullied off the ball, rather than just physical appearance.
