I thought the keeper looked ok, very raw but needs time and he will come good.

Wonder though if it would be worth a year deal for Bartosz Bialkowski. I know we have a few older heads already, but having him for a year to rotate and help coach Smith before making him number 1 full time next season.

 

Only saw last 9 minutes so sadly not enough to judge us. Its minutes in the tank and nice to see there was still energy in the late stages... Not sure I recognised anyone but styles and connell!

Played a blinder in Utd's recent match against Rosenberg. Utd fans calling for him to be in first team. Would be a top acquisition.

 

Aye, he looked fired up. Clarke said he was going to sit him down and find out what his intentions were. It seems to me from that showing that he's happy to knuckle down and give the best account of himself when that wasn't always clear last season. Giving the armband might be another indicator too that we're considering him being a Barnsley player for the immediate future.

Some positive signs but the bottom line is we are two weeks away from the start of the season and we haven’t added any attack minded players to the squad despite losing 30 goals from last season’s team .

 

Don't know anything about him and he may be very good, but I am not sure I get the logic of it.

For me, we either go with the young inexperienced Smith and let him develop as season goes on seen as we have invested in him for several years. Or, if we are to sign a new keeper, you get a older more experienced one like a Marosi etc. who can play now for a season or two while Smith gets better.

Loaning in another teams young inexperienced keeper to go alongside the other young inexperienced keeper seems an odd one to me. If we got Vitak for example, we are just developing Man United's young keeper for them, while stunting the development of the one we have just signed ourselves.

 

The only two games I saw last season were the playoff games. I assumed it was maybe Pines, but I couldn't be fully sure in case it was a trialist or something.

 

yes I agree but on the flip side you sometimes end up with a diamond like a harvey barnes or a kieran trippier or a john curtis etc for a year which could help massively winning promotion
