The back end of this week then I believe. It contains the result of the derby game from tuesday night and Robins' bit was written after that game too.
No I wouldn't, all the rest of my reasons show that. Why is there any need to go down? The spelling and factual mistakes aren't my opinion they are facts. It isn't that i'm arguing the programme is **** or is boring, i'm saying that it contains mistakes. Those can't be argued with can they? So what difference would a face to face meeting make? would he show me a dictionary with different spellings of words? Or would he introduce me to Simon Davey and explain that he is in fact still manager of bfc and it's all been an elaborate ploy to get fans off his back? Of course he wouldn't so it would make no difference. Rob makes mistakes that a journalist should not do. If that is because he is too stretched to do everything himself then he should request or be given assistance to do the (several) jobs that he does. That suggestion by me is hardly a new one, I first made it 2 years ago and I think that is quite constructive actually. You say that you've always found the club open to suggestions, well the suggestions in my post above have all been made before, if they are so open to suggestions then they won't care what media those suggestions come from will they. I also find it rather ironic that somebody thinks it is unacceptable to use the internet to complain about an internet site
It's not libellous to point out the errors in the programme... but crack on with the letter anyway. Don, I'd suggest that you back Rob up with some extra assistance. He might have a claim for constructive dismissal if not. I'd venture that some derogatory posts have the potential to be classed as libel, but how the claim would stack up in court is an interesting one. For the record, I no longer buy the pogrom as it contains nothing of any worth that cannot be obtained freely on barnsleyfc.co.uk except for Stop Press and Rob's article. Neither of which are worth £3. Sorry Rob.
He only pointed out some very basic errors FFS! Simon Davey still manager! Is that wishful thinking? If that was me, I'd want the least amount of attention possible drawn to it. Oh hold on...
See that's the problem with the programme. There's not enough original material that you cannot find out elsewhere. Where in the programme is this mistake SuperTyke mentions?
RE: Your suggestions... Nothing in that e-mail that tells Supertyke, the customer, of how Rob strives tirelessly to eradicate mistakes and rectify them then.
I find it amazing that there are no typo's in that e-mail. Is it definitely from Rob? I'm not helping am I?
Kids come out of school these days with 10 GCSE passes and many of them can't write a coherent sentence or do calculations in their head. Then there's text language. Encourages bad spelling and totally inappropriate to use it outside of a text message, but people do. Standards have slipped so far since the good old O' Level.
Symptomatic of the problems of this country Everywhere you go criticism with gusto is simply tagged abuse and is used as an excuse to continue to be cr@p. "We will not tolerate abuse of our staff" "I wouldn't say they were **** if they weren't ****" "That's abuse sir, please stop that" "Ok, tell your staff to stop being **** and i'll stop calling them ****" So is the solution to the problem 1. to refuse to serve the customer who says your staff are **** 2. to improve the customer service so the customers have no reason to believe the product / service they are recieivng is ****. Barnsley football club have put a sign up in the box office saying it will not tolerate "constructive criticism" of it's staff!
