TK: I'll leave for 75% of my contract paid BM: Here you go, two bobs and a conker shell. It's all you are worth.
probably the worst player I've seen at oakwell, fcukin useless and beyond comprehension that he gets 4k for being so,theres only flicker daft enough to tek him.Kennedy must have summat on him.
Where does he live? Mansford seemed pretty adamant that all players should live in or around the town.
It's got wind up written all over this...it's all come from a person on Twitter who has posted 5 times in over 3 years.
That 'source' was his mate and former colleague. He said as far he knew or was concerned, he was going nowhere. I'm guessing the PAO move wasn't happening then? Who knows? Not me. I never do. Never claim to either. I just share stuff I'm told, on a forum occasionally. The stuff I'm told sometimes happens, but sometimes it doesn't. Such is life. If I was paid to be 'in the know', I'd probably make sure my stories were pretty concrete. But then, it doesn't stop the myriad newspaper journos and social media types getting more wrong than they do right. We all like a good story, rumour. Look at the activity it's caused on here and twitter. But yep, I agree. Hope this source is right.
hope to got it isn't a wind up,i cant bare the thought of another season watching him run with his elbows stuck art and his head pointing at the floor, then a stop followed by a back pass to the keeper
And while we're at it... I posted that I'd been told that Danny Wilson hadn't been approached for the BFC job if you remember. Then, two days later when he was appointed, folk took the piss out of me etc. But as I said at the time, I was only told he'd not been approached. But in the world, there's a thing called time, where events occur. Turns out Danny admitted in his press conference that he'd only been approached the day before (I think). Or the day before that. Not as the entire media suggested, that he'd been approached ages ago. But who to believe? No fcuker. That's who. Nowt is definite until it happens, officially, with proper proof. Fun though innit?
Time to make sure we bring in Stephen Crainie then? Would be an appropriate replacement and specialist left back.
I've been watching Barnsley over 35 years and I've seen dozens and dozens of players worse than Tom Kennedy. I'm not trying to argue he's a good player, he's not, not at Championship level anyway, but I do think he's had far more grief than his ability, or lack of, warrants. I'm not pointing fingers, I've been guilty of it too, but I think we've made him a scapegoat rather than given him a fair assessment. He wasn't our worst player last season, he wasn't even our worst full back; Hunt, McLaughlin and Wiseman all played a bigger percentage of poor games compared to Kennedy. Not that I'm sad to see him go and I won't be looking back fondly on his time here in years to come, but I don't think we've been fair to him at all.
Paul Gibbs. Don't let time blind you to his incompetence. I swear Kennedy is Paolo Maldini compared to him.
I feel a bit sorry for him after reading this thread. Don't get me wrong - I know I haven't seen Barnsley play as much as many of you over the past few seasons. But he never seemed that bad on the occasions I saw him. And I know he was supposed to be on a fair whack. But could he really have been that much worse than the rest of the team over a season during which we performed as badly as we did?
