I agree with you. To get back to the Premier league with the "honest" approach is the slimmest of slim chances.
The assumptions on here are nuts, the fact people guess what’s going on and then get ticked off at the board based on their guesses is even nuttier. Stop filling in the blanks and just look at the facts, they have invested a **** load of money to keep us going. The rest of the talk on here is just speculation, don’t get worked up about it, who knows why we’ve ended up this skint but thank **** we have these people to cover us. Rich people don’t stay rich or get rich by wasting money, they’ve spent that knowing it’s not going to vanish, I doubt very much they are prepared to see the club and their money go under. Clearly they see a way out of this. With a bit of luck Lee and Conway will refuse to contribute and lose a load of shares as a result. Happy days
Worrying times. But we don't know the full picture. What club needs now is support. Again, I'd buy a shirt if it had a sponsor on it...
Got my vouchers along with others that claimed em. Admittedly late in the day, a **** up big style. And used 1 or 2 of my 4 free tickets. At the end of last season. Which I understand may still be available. 22/23 . Don't hold me to that.
Close work colleague of mine went last night. I was less interested in him relaying the answers to all the questions than I was in what he thought about them, if he liked them, if he thought they were honest. He said, "I was well impressed with all of them."
Do you think many players are on more than £5k pw. I'd be Interested to know who. ? Josh Benson is the only one I believe from last season. Maybe kane. ? Can't find owt on new signings.
I can only assume Collins would be near that. Possibly Andersen. But who knows after their relegation clauses
Everything which came out about the finances last night was not hidden but relatively easy to project from previously filed accounts. Football clubs are not that complex. Both revenue and costs are predictable. What the owners have shown last night is that the shortfall this year is being met by a combination of player sales and cash from their own pockets. That is a massive positive as the alternative would have been administration and the loss of their original investment. Any equity owner has to assess whether an investment which requires further investment is worth that or whether to walk away and accept total loss. I think the issue may come for some of the board how much they wish to chase after recovery if faced with further significant cash calls.
Which is where we have to hope against hope that Parekh now sees us as a labour of love rather than an investment.
The level of engagement and detail the owners have provided last night is lovely, but this thread is prime example of why information does not equal knowledge.
Looking at last years supposed salaries. Both £4k+ Kane came under oxfords and was £6k+ I reckon players are having to reduce their demands in most cases. Or be out of a job. Norwoods salary would be interesting. He was on £8k+ at Ipswich. Average wage in league one apparently btw £2kpw.
I think the time is coming where the Cryne's will have to leave the sauna. They can't afford these cash injections. Can't see them risking the inheritance. That isn't a negative. If I were them knowing I wasn't as cash rich as the other owners and will be needed to inject more funds. I'd want out. Anyone in that position would.
No sympathy for any of the board. Maybe they want to try getting the going rate for the value of players, instead of giving them away.
