    Newcastle vs Sunderland - 12 miles
    Newcastle vs Hartlepool - 32 miles
    Newcastle vs Darlington - 35 miles
    Newcastle vs Middlesbrough - 43 miles
    Newcastle vs Carlisle - 57 miles

    (and combinations of these teams)

    RE: Lets get a few things straight.

    So is Hull v Barnsley a derby , 60 mile distance, cos Grimsby are from a different county though only 15 mile from 'ull and that there are only minnows ie. Scun'orpe, Grimsby and Donny in between Barnsley and Hull, notwithstanding that these clubs are as big if not bigger than Barnsley.

    OR...could you argue that the only true derbies are between clubs from the same city ?
