Did he chuff he was a,socialist of the highest order He had money if I had money I could afford his principles
Proud to say I met the great man on a few occasions he was an absolute inspiration . RIP Tony don't think we'll ever be lucky enough to see your like again in politics.
I wish I was up or some sort of electoral office and you were my opposition all I would ave to do is sit back and let you speak. I'd piss it
Tony Benn was an inspiration to me in my youth. A great believer in socialism and in parliamentary democracy. In my opinion he always spoke from the hip (even when Ali G interviewed him!!) I'm gutted.
I had the pleasure of hearing Tony Benn speak briefly a few years back, here's the vid that someone made. He packs vegetarianism, animal rights, vivisection, activism, the environment and death threats all into 5 inspiring minutes. He was the son of a viscount and came from a very privileged background, he may have been a Socialist / Marxist but he was not working class, he was a million miles from being working class. I'm not having a go at him before I get pelters, I am just commenting on a misconception. I paid my respects earlier in the post.
