I understand that the process needed a kick start, but releasing convicted terrorists is a bit of a no-no in my books and always will be.

    Political Prisoners ffs

I can't tell you my real name as I'd have to kill you and that. Rest assured though, I have some books out in the shops about sensitive stuff like this and how to deal with it.

    Well good for you

In my experience i have had two relatives contract MRSA, the nurses are overworked and underpaid, the wards are run by admin/managers and not by doctors and matrons and the cleaning staff are now contracted and do a poor job in general. It all comes down to money. i have also worked in a hospital so have seen it from different perspectives.
oh and while we are on the subject of health, i suppose you have no trouble finding an NHS dentist either?

    RE: prospered?

People are contracting MRSA due to poor practices and less clean hospitals, outsourcing of hospital cleaning and taking authority away from the ward sister for the cleaners on their ward is a major part of that - who outsourced cleaning services? The Conservatives.

    RE: prospered?

Yes we have never had it so good! Personally I believe the evidence suggests that living standards have never been higher than in around 2002!! Since then we have seen a slight lull. But unemployment levels are lower than at nearly any other time post war, most home owner ever and consumer good are easily available cheaply! We have definitely prospered! Not saying everything is rosey but turn the clock back 10-15 years and try to remember?? People have such short memories.

ok Eaststander, so the Conservatives made the major mistake in the first place. Did it become EU law or something that Labour had to stick with it?

    Just because

you can buy a cheap telly doesnt mean we are a prosperous nation. Unemployment stats are a complete scam.
How many of the unemployed are actually able to claim Jobseekers? How many jobs are now part time? How many jobs have gone abroad? You'll also be shocked to find out how many people arent in the Govt stats for various reasons. If you want to take in their stats then fine live in ignorance
As for housing. Do you know how difficult it is to find a council house? And how many are now getting built to compensate for the loss? its all private landlords charging extorniate rents to fuel their buying power in the property market.
And dont even suggest people should buy a house now. borrow on six times your salary?
yes you can blame the Tories for a lot but the saddest thing is Blair has continued their bad work.

    RE: Well good for you

I am not saying everything is perfect!!! Clearly it is not! I mean look at Barnsley!!! But it is also incorrect paint the picture you do!! All I was saying is that we are generally better off!! You can choose not to accept that but that is the truth!

I am no flag waiving Blairite but I am a realist!

something they had or have to stick with for a length of time....much like

    public transport....

bloody conservatives again and there privatisation....

can't blame labour for public transport when it was privatised and the agreement made by the cons is that something like 15/20 years notice must be provided to re-regulate them or transfer back into public services....

thats what a lot of people miss and don't realise!
