Martin "Lazer Beam" Steel

Think he just lost it when I was knocking abart with that tribe.

Later recruited lazer beam to drum in our ensemble. what a chuckle

We once "practised" for an hour or so after steelie said he had a surprise for us. Eventually he revealed he was wearing a wig and promptly removed a wig identical to his own locks.

Went to the chippy up royston after the sesh and steelie was skint..he had abart 10p he asked what he could have for it and was proffered a sachet of tartar sauce which he bought & ate.

    Once tippexed all his teeth

His dad once caught him dancing around naked in his bedroom with a pack of lit joss sticks tucked in an elastic band round his head!!!

Still knocks abart wombwell but its ages since I saw him.

Party Day were quite good and almost did make it but I think were vistims of circumstance to a degree.

Wish I had all the material on CD. dont see carl & co very often these days but I know there is a cd kicking around I just need a copy. They also did some good stuff as BiFF..a bit lighter than PD. Got mentioned on the steve wright rad 1 show as "Barnsleys first surf band"[IMG]..Halcyon days.

Wouldn't surprise me if Carl, Greg et al read this board.

He was certainly a good laugh was Martin. Didn't the brothers end up doing a shirt company with Liam? I think there's a preview on Party Day on a website i was looking at a few months ago - if anyone can get a copy of their stuff on CD i'll give em a few shekkels for it?

Did anyone go to Bradford? That was a good night out.

Carl, Liam set it up..doing well I think.

Think Julian & occaisionally Martin work there as well as Mark Jackson.

Greg works for some off shore company.

Went to a gig at Leeds Wharehouse that was quite good.

Saw 'em at the civic in some eighties music festival. they were good do's.

they once got a support gig with the "southern death cult"

    ie the cult

blew them off the stage im reliably informed. They used to get good reviews in the musac press. Then big kite (dean pecket - another "character" )took over and it turned to *****.

Once was going to a gig at bradford or might have been the phono gig. Got to the cash machine in tarn and forgot my pin. hence missed the bus and the gig.

Last time he emailed he'd been seriously ill.

Bad Moon weas doing nicely I know. Done good for a lad from Athersley.

After the Brum home po match my kids were in shock when some great hairy bloke picked their mam up swung her round and planted a sloppy gret kiss on her... took some explaining tho his Mrs took it in her stride!

    Mr. Bad Moon......

Soz to hear about his health. What's been up with the lad.

Do you know, i'd once had a kicking in the town centre and dropped on him, and he took to Athersley and got his old dear to patch me up. Ever so concerned he was, and such a nice and considerate thing to do. I've never forgotten it. Mention that story to him next time you're in touch and see if he remembers (Y)

    Magic!

Dodgy goth disco, sticky carpets, unusable karzies.
That token you used to get when you paid you ten bob on the door that got you your first round for half price.

"8 Newcastle Browns please. Leave t'lids on 7!"

Then at 4 o'clock pour out into crowded Leeds shopping streets in broad daylight.

Those were the days (pint) (pint) (pint) (pint)
