    No, fairly sure JP didn't play in the Prem for Stoke ..............

    ....... but did play this season for them in a League Cup match, so technically he played for a Prem team I suppose

    But they didn't 'originate' from Barnsley .............

    ......... think you might be missing the point mate, it's top flight players who come from the tarn or surrounding areas, regardless of whether they played for the tarn or not, otherwise we could count our full squad from 97/98

    Saw him in a testimonial match down Oakwell in 1967. It was Barnsley against a team of locally born players.

    Or is the old memory playing up? (chinny)
