To be honest - I've not got a clue what the **** you're all on about.

I only went to school for the milk.

Then that bitch Thatcher stole it.
I still fancy her a bit though.

    Agreed.

I think it must be some kind of self fulfilling prophecy, or summat.

I've got a HND in Football Man Management & an honorary degree in asking my customers how many pints of semi-skimmed they'd like (and who should be the next BFC Manager).

Just thought I'd point that out.

I have degrees in 'you can't see it cos it's black' and 'I invented the moon'

I also have a degree in Kappa chav-gear wearing.
I'm three modules into a HND in Opta Index for U11's (conducted in the showers).

The course finishes at Sheff Utd's training ground at 10:26am on Monday the 27th of Spam on toast.

    RE: was it a...

Obviously changed it after the 11+ was scrapped, because my 2 borthers both did 11+, 1 passed and went to Hemsworth Grammar School, other failed and went to Willowgarth High (which is where myself and my sister both went after middle school)...

I have friends from Cudworth, Royston, Ryhill - all had same system.

obviously changed now cause my ex's kid moved to high school at age 11, but we were discussing the period around the time that I moved.

    Cambridge is for gimps

As one who went up to Oxford I can positively agree that Cambridge is a hell hole of privilege and loving (mainly loving).

    I say Dear boy

As a lecturer at the oldest university in the country (the country being Wales by the way).

I would also tend to agree with you, and recommend Oxford to my kids who are educated at a very good comprehensive.

Much university education in the UK is now very iffy. But sadly that also includes Oxbridge, but not to the same extent and its also not the preception and perception counts.

I could tell tales of declining standards at Oxford, but then I would be on thin ice come home territory

You can't talk, Aberystwyth is declining severely...

.. in the standards of its hostelries.

In one of my high performance computing/data centre liaison capacities I used to have regular meetings at Aberystwyth and I have to say, the quality of a beery night out declined significantly over the years, you want to look to Bangor and see how it has maintained its high standards in beer, food and filth.
