Darton to High Hoyland, 6 minutes; it takes me that long on the car. What are they on, drugs or something?
It looks like Pidcock’s in it to win it after boing for bonus seconds yesterday. Could be quite a battle with him Bilbao, Remco & a few others up Hound Hill
Congratulations to Stephen Williams of Wales who won today's stage and takes the lead in the GC. It's created an 'interesting' subtext for tomorrows stage starting in Sheffield. Williams rides for Israel–Premier Tech and there's a planned demonstration in Sheffield by Palestine supporters protesting against Israeli sportswashing in Tour of Britain.
It came through Stokesley today with all the entourage today, quite the spectacle it was too. There were sprint points up for grabs and seeing it at close quarters really brings home to you how fast they go! Within 5 mins they were long gone and everything was back to normal. The motorbike cops really enjoy it, must have been 20 of them flying around. Hope it goes well tomorrow in town without too much disruption, good uphill finish on Old Mill Lane.
Could you park your car a 10 mins walk away so that it is on the other side of the route and not blocked in. That's what I do when the Manchester, Greater Manchester marathons and half marathons block us in.
Just been out to watch it in Wath. I work on Sandygate and the road was closed for about 10 minutes tops. Barely any disruption at all. Police bikes came flying past when they were about a mile away, and the road reopened when all but the last couple of riders were though, and then they stopped the traffic in the opposite direction presumably for safety. All back to normal within 15 minutes.
Same here in Royston. Passed bottom of our street and was over and done with in about 10 minutes. Good to see.
Doesn’t look like anyone told the school bus operator at Darton. Bus queuing to turn on to Kexborough but all the road coned off.
Great watch on ITV4. Weather meant it was a proper test. Commentator called Hound Hill an easy climb - not for me!
