Looking at the faces of Cam, Cauley ,Alex and Jacob they were still well up for partying Think the pace is getting to Daniel a bit now.
Looked like him to me, and people who were behind scenes said it was ?? Granted he might not have been responsible for the appalling choice of music but the guy on the mic?? Full apology to Jason if it wasn't him, but whoever it was was terrible.
That was entirely the MC's fault. There was no indication anyone else was coming out, indeed I'm sure he said something like "Let's go and party".
The main guy on the Mic, on the balcony was Jason. Think there may have been another DJ. Jason was well below par imo. Just did nothing to whip up the crowd, and his questions to the players invited the blank responses he got. Good job that Mowatt, Brown, Woodrow and McGeehan had the personality to bail him out, because otherwise we'd have had 20+ carbon copy "You Reds" moments.
To be fair, maybe he didn't know, but it was awkward. And funny as it was for Conway to mention Leeds, the sweary bit let him down a bit. It was all a bit amateurish.
Maybe it's me, but I liked it being "amateurish" It's a chance for the players to be thanked and to celebrate with the fans. And that they did.I thought there might not be many out but there were. I missed the owners because it had definitely been wrapped up before they came out so I'm not sure why that happened? It's been a great season, yes you may say we were favourites to go straight back up but no one knew we'd do it playing the football we did or that we'd get a manager that took to the club so well.
Mc was as bad as he always is. Sub him off and get someone with a bit of something about them in. Please, with the amount of music people in the town, get someone lively on it.
Fantastic season, and loved it, but tonight could have been so much better in the right hands. (I did enjoy it, but felt that they got alot of the basics wrong - not all down to anyone in particular). Bus looked crap. No attempt to make it into a BFC bus. At least it didn't break down. Music entirely inappropriate. If it's not a song about a young boy who has died, it was a re hash of all the 1997 Promotion songs. Can't we do better than that? In this day and age it's simple to get clips of all the songs that our fans want to sing NOW instead of the stuff we had 22 years ago. Should have been tee-ing up all the songs for each player arriving. We have enough songs, but no, let's put "Sleepy Jean" on. Thank God they didn't do "You'll Never Walk Alone". Town hall draped in blue and yellow from TDF three days ago. Lazy. Players swearing can be forgiven, even though it's un necessary, but the CEO / Owner should show more decorum. Kids there. MC hopeless, seemingly not bothered about getting crowd warmed up. Awkward send everyone packing, then oh hang on, the owners are coming out bit. "What match are you looking forward to playing next season?" "winning them" "which team?" "Leeds" "relegate the ********" Paul Conway This was the Acorn Antiques of BFC Celebrations.
Fully agree. Even when they played cheer up mark mcghee nobody sang but half the crowd were so young they dont understand it. A night to forget. Even the players or board didn't have more than one word answers to a question.
It depends where you were stood. There were plenty around me singing it, but the noise doesn't seem to carry. A dozen lads only 15 yards to my left never stopped singing but I couldn't make out what.
Why sing cheer up mark mghee 22 years later. It was that bad I was expecting wig wam bam to come on. We’ve just been involved in a cracking season with positivity all around and the promotion celebration is lead by a **** working men’s club dj and Alan partridge as compere.
