Somebody was having a go at him in another thread and here's my response. Quote ("We will never know how good a keeper he could be unless he gets a run of games to build up understandings with his defenders. The goal yesterday happened because Bree let his man go and Roberts gave up cos he thought Townsend was getting it and Townsend gave up cos he thought Roberts was getting it. Its not that long back that most fans did not want Davies in goal because of his decision making and hesitant kicking. A run in the team ironed out most of his faults (but not all) and built his confidence and so he is now the number one. I don't know if Townsend will ever make a good keeper, but if you are going to attribute mistakes that create goals to the goalie then you have to apply that to outfield players equally and Bree as an example has made enough of his own. This is not a pro Townsend / anti Bree post by the way, but I do wish people would attribute "fault " fairly. ") Quote.
Again totally disagree he is loud and does command ...again not sure who you have been watching ! However Townsend is number 2 therefore Wolton can't be better because he would be in his place but he isn't. Just my opinion .
Really ..well at the moment it's a fact my friend ..the proof that Townsend is better is he is number 2 not Walton unless someone is falsifying information !
You are correct you are not my friend and I would certainly not want you as one , no way is he good enough for number 2 broken foot or not. It just seems there is a vendetta and majority of people have made there minds up to rule Townsend out . That's fine as I said in this thread we are all entitled to an opinion .
Correct why would i want to be friends with an egotistical sunday morning keeper who thinks he knows everything about goalkeeping, jog on
Well coaches seem to think Walton isn't as good as Townsend, so until he proves otherwise that the case.
And the result was ... And Townsends write ups were ... Excellent saves Good off his line Excellent decision making ... I rest my case .. No other conversation is required I am right !
It was a pre-season friendly against a League 1 team, one swallow doesn't make a summer, if he proves to be a good keeper over the course of this season then props to him and the John Vaughn and I'll admit I'm wrong but I won't after one pre-season match where he wouldn't have been playing if Davies hadn't been injured
