They paid money initially to purchase the club. With additional monies due to be paid later that is part of the claim we all know of.
Honestly can’t remember but it’s been discussed on here a few times now, I think it was Archerfield who confirmed this most recently. Just found this: Based on the receipts and debtors in Oakwell Holdings’ accounts the purchase price was an initial amount of £6,288,071 (this was the outstanding debt that Patrick was owed at the time of the transaction) plus £1m. There was a further £4m to be paid over the next four years at £1m pa Patrick certainly didn’t give the club away but equally for a football club with £5m of cash on the balance sheet the purchase price, nett of cash, was £6.3m.
But how much of what they paid was their own personal money and how much was money invested by people they've managed to get to sign up to their investment scheme. There's a big difference in losing your own money in a failed company and losing investors money don't forget the holding company that actually owns BFC is based in the now not so open and transparent city of Hong Kong
No different to most "Rich" business people. They never use their own money, if it can be avoided. It's always loans and other investors pockets.
Nobody on here will have a clue if it is ‘their’ money, borrowed from banks or investors(all though personally I don’t believe for a minute any of it came from investors as this recent revelation scheme is just happening now not years ago and it doesn’t appear to involve Lee just Conway (and others).
It doesn"t matter how they put the money together , Patrick sold it to them & they bought it , I know it does not suit peoples agenda including mine as I wish they were gone , but they have parted with money & they did buy the club so the statement that they have not spent a penny is not true .
I was being facetious. Most people know that they made an initial payment but some seek to ignore that fact.
I havn"t a clue, they say Patrick used to have to put money into the club every month to keep it a float so who knows, all I hope for is that our club gets sold asap to someone with genuine interest in the club, the fans & the area but if we like it or not these present incumbents parted with some brass to get a foot in the door. Incidentally , is this going to turn into a " What ever have the Romans done for us thread " ?
They had no choice but to make a initial payment or they wouldnt have got in. Put nothing in since not even towards installments, 750k missing and avoiding questions about it, then theres the vouchers. Leaches.
Was that the same Cryne dynasty that repeatedly sold our best players for a fraction of any other club would have got? And heaven forbid that the current regime bring in any ‘unknown U23s’ with no experience of the Championship - like Daryl Dike, and Ollie McBurnie!
I agree entirely, but hasn’t it always been that way? The idea that the only reason we’re doing badly this season is because of a change in approach by the owners is complete nonsense.
It's not the only reason but decisions they've made have made the problems bigger and when this became very evident they acted too slowly and without the necessary intent to change things enough to give us a chance of survival.
