The same Cryne who was bankrolling the club to keep it going no less. Also the Oli McBurnie deal was on that was meant to happen in the summer prior to us being taken over by the new regime in Dec that year. Although using your point it didn’t work and we still got relegated that season even if you wanted to credit them with us signing McBurnie.
This is what I don't get. People don't like the 80% because they don't spend money but the sign of a good business is not spending cash you don't have. But like what Patrick did of having the club in debt to him because he spent cash the club didn't have.
That's why people don't like them? I thought it was the constant lies. the taking of £750k. The False advertising of season tickets. The disgusting Daniel stendel statement. The fact that they court the limelight when things are going well but go into hiding when they aren't. The worsening matchday experience and the false promises made associated with it. If you think people only dislike them because they don't spend cash the club doesn't have then you are just as out of touch with the fans of bfc as they are
It's quite right they are disliked over the 750k. But many keep going on about them not spending money. I would rather we only spent what we made, which isn't what we did in the past.
We probably would have done yes. The point was that it was a deal arranged by the old ownership not the current lot.
Whatever you think of him he left the club in a much better financial state than i believe our current ownership will, who have wiped out all the cash in the club by the sounds of things.
Cryne subsidised the accademy each year so it kept its status i think it was 1million each year. When we went down in 2014 cryne put his own money in to buy winnall, conor, scowen etc who the club had identified via the "spreadsheet" it was a good plan it worked. Lets see what these jokers do when the inevitable happens.
This is what people dont get he left the club in a really good position. This lot have been here 4 years and are running it into the ground but some still say yes but cryne.... this lot are the worst owners ive ever known.
When Cryne sold the club we had, I believe, just under £5million cash in the bank. A squad of players who were good enough to stay in the championship (though they didn’t), and one which would be excellent in league one (as was proven). In the years since, every penny of that has gone. £750k taken out of the club’s coffers to settle a debt owed to one group of owners by the majority owners - despite the money being owed by them, not the club itself. The current squad is woeful, and yet will still have to be liquidised to keep the club afloat. Given the dwindling value of these players, more will likely have to go. There will be a reduction in income of at least £6million to £7million next season in league one just in tv money, realistically with the reduction in fan support as well, that figure will be more like £8million. I genuinely feel we are staring into the abyss: I see the owners leaving with us in administration and in severe dire straits. Not definitely, but most possibly.
Haven’t heard anything specifically but to the fair to the club, they keep their cards very close to their chest until a day or two before. I do expect Helik and Woodrow to leave though. Styles will be with us until summer I would have thought but who knows.
