RE: I might be talking out of turn here we dont score as many when he`s not playing. All the good teams have 1 attacking midfielder and 1 defensive 1, ie Chelsea- Makelele sits deep and holds the midfield , whilst Lampard etc bomb forward. Therefore all we need is to convince Claude that Barnsley are a better propect for sucess than Chelsea, then we dont have to worry about Howard being too attacking. See its simple, just buy Chelsea players
totally agree have a look at how many times both our central midfielders get caught ahead of the ball when we lose possesion , both arent the quickest and we end up suffering on the counter attack.
In a nutshell..................we shouldn't be letting anybody go And that includes Howard, or whoever We have a very very weak squad. Why are people on here agreeing we could get money for one of our best players (N) (N) (N) We need players, we cannot afford to sell any of the 6 players still left at the club Colgan Hassel Kay Howard Devaney Togwell (Atkinson, Nardiello ???) All the rest can go...........but not these We need to build on these players
RE: In a nutshell..................we shouldn't be letting anybody go Unfortunately the power in the games moved and clubs even in the Prem have little power over players. Bosman and the agent (quick buck) culture killed off that. I think that everyone would like to see us keep hold of our best players, but unlike in the past when we were a selling club I think that often we are having to make business decisions about players nearing the end of their contracts. I blame the parasitic agents who are taking lots of money out of the game and giving very little or nothing back. The only way forward is to ban the Barstewards and allow the PFA to be the sole representatives of the players rights.
