    That was in October. It's hardly flirting with the play offs. You might as well say we were top of the table before a ball was kicked.

    Nov 24th we were in 7th on same points as 6th placed Wolves but worse goal difference that was after 17 games.

    Seeing though our seasons finish in January James I would call that flirting, though as usual we got our faces slapped.

    At what point in the season is it considered correct to say we are flirting with the playoffs and how many points off 6th is considered correct to actually say it.

    I aint sure MrsH, but in my own reckoning, Id say we flirted with the top 6 this year. Then Jake and co were taken from us, and we realised flirting wouldnt get us anywhere and went back to tossing it off with the mid-table crew

    I think all bar one season since we came up we have had our hopes raised by being within striking distance only for them to be dashed.

    more like fantasised with the top 6,at least when you flirt wi summat you get near it!!!.................................not that am avin a right moan here,like av said before i'd av given me left boll ock when i was a kid to have been where we are now.

    I would say in the last 10-15 games and you have to be in with a mathematical shout up to the last 3-4 games. If you're sixth in November but two bad results puts you in twelfth it's not really flirting.

    Also my original post said flirting with the play off positions and not flirting with the play offs.

    The big difference is that the premier league is smaller than it used to be, therefore the Championship is filled with bigger clubs. We are punching above our weight just being in the Championship.

    Be thankful of it.

    Christ, you could win your first game of the season and say you were flirting with the Championship position.

    Being in sixth place for a week in October means nothing if you're 19th by November and 21st by April.

    Also everyone has omitted that a lot of teams are going down the pan financially so in the long term when the rules start changing over football club finances we should be further along and hopefully reap those benefits.

    We're pinning all our hopes on this financial fair play coming in. Looking at the way the FL and PL deals with financial foul play at the moment I think we're going to be disappointed.

    The original point was that it hasn`t been struggle all the time, we have had times when we have been well PLACED in the league in the top half at various times of the season yes some early some mid season is that any better. No. rethink, it been all **** since we came up from the pub league.

    You`ll go to some lengths to discredit owt Davey did.
