That's a great call. Similar to Turnbull with Chelsea in that he got a medal as part of the Man Utd squad but never played?

No bud, got it for being an unused sub in the final iirc.

Yes that's true too bud. He did a podcast a while a go and said he felt a fraud to accepting it. Which is quite noble - can understand why a young player at that time would accept it.

Edit - I completely forgot he played for us which is quite annoying (don't think I would have got him right as a question though still!) as I like to follow Scarborough FC and he's the manager there!

1980 against Hamburg. I'd forgotten about that. Memory like a sieve!

I think you are right, you know. Just checked and Stuart Gray isn't in the squad at all, Frank Gray is though

Which Barnsley player had previously captained his side in an FA Cup final ?

Archie Taylor was our captain in 1912 fa cup final. Tommy Boyle was our captain in 1910 when we lost the final. Or am I misunderstanding the question? :D

He captained another team at Wembley, before joining us ( the following season I think )
It was in modern day times.
I’ve checked and it wasn’t the following season !!

Just thought of Geddis because I knew he hadn't played many games for us and I did remember him scoring on his home debut. Great striker for us, was a shame we didn't get to see much of him.

He’s not the player I’m thinking of … I think Anderson played in a few League Cup finals
